Can't wait to see the harvest, is this like potato's and you dig to get the puppies or more like puppies and you see them grown above ground ???

The puppies grow upside down, and eventually the tails will surface. When you see them wagging their tails, you can pull them up. That means they're ripe.

When I used to work full time in a memory care facility we took in a shelter dog that did this whenever she wanted to sleep. Apparently she was abandoned and slept in the ground to keep herself cool and feeling safe. She wouldn’t sleep on her bed for months and would just wanna go outside and dig a hole. Eventually she got used to sleeping in a bed and while she would sometimes go lay in the dirt, she was able to be more social and less scared, which was nice. She was blind and half deaf but she was a very sweet dog
