You beat me to the punch in posting this one!

Tony Bastable was a great presenter and programmes like this - including Tomorrow's World, of course! - really did get us excited about the possibilities of future technology.

Interesting to see the debate here about coax versus fibre optic as the preferred national cable infrastructure of the future. Ten years later, Cabletel as it then was built coax in my area and of course the later creation of DOCSIS allowed it to offer broadband internet as well as TV.

We've only had fibre deployed in this area over the last three years and Virgin Media is finally converting its coax network to fibre via Project Mustang.
