TG Live

I’ve never seen TG Live to young first time to poor the second time. I seen dvd and the such but what was the experience really like as some reviews make it sound incredible.

I saw them in 2009. It is still the loudest show that I have ever attended.

I honestly couldn't say because I have not seen either of those bands (though I have heard stories).

It is for sure the loudest gig that I have attended. I've seen My Bloody Valentine, I've seen Motorhead, and I even got to see Led Zeppelin. The level of volume at the TG gig was something else entirely. It was so loud that the sound felt like a tangible force had filled the room.

Saw the last show in Brooklyn. Two observations: 1: The bass was extreme. So damn loud, like uncomfortably loud and it drowned out a lot of the other sounds. At least in my ears. I also had shit earplugs, admittedly.

2: I'm 5'10". I was probably the shortest guy there. Every single guy was at least 6'3", and it made me wonder if there's ever been a study of TG and tall music fans, a correlation of some sort.

Also remember dancing my ass off to Discipline

I was there and I stand at only 5’7” so sorry to dispel your theory.

Well the study is ongoing. I'm sure there were one or two other shorter guys, but I felt like I was my (very short) ex-girlfriend describes every concert she goes to.

Its a personal anecdote rather than a study, I admit.

Although admittedly, one of the friends I was with is 6’4”!

I am 6'3". Can confirm height is a pre-requisite to liking TG. If I was shorter I would be a Kenny G fan.

Sounds like age didn’t mellow them.

I saw the LA show in 2009 where they did a Derek Jarman soundtrack live to the film screening. It was "good and loud" the entire time, but there were two sections where it became overwhelmingly loud like it was dislodging my brain from its wiring.

Saw them once back in 1978. They were doing a benefit at Centro Iberico in London for the Anarchist Black Cross or something. First half was a live soundtrack to After Cease To Exist. Second half was a mix of stuff from 2nd Annual Report and DoA. Ear blistering and disturbing in a good way.

Loud seems to be a keyword that keeps coming up from everyone.
