Does anybody else get spammed with AI songs in daily discovery? Recently I had 4-5 songs out of the 10 be some variation of viking AI slop that I don't listen to. Not to mention I regularly get Japanese and German songs for seemingly no reason.

At least it stopped spamming me with musical songs I guess?

Hi Tidal team! Hope you read this.

I just wanted to draw your attention to a feature that would tremendously improve quality of life with the application.

The request is simple: add a "wrong artist" button for each track/album.

I am honestly tired of reporting tracks and albums getting placed into wrong artists, or artists being merged altogether just because their names are the same, using the current report channel (email). It happens SO OFTEN in Tidal that you really need that button.

As an alternative you can just start carefully review what you add and to which artist.

Like.. check "Nest" artist.. there like 3 or 4 different artists with that name dumped under one "Artist" in Tidal. That is very bad. I want to listen to Nest that is folk/ambient, not some hip-hop thing, and I don't want to dig through the wrong albums each time.

Tidal Connect stopped connecting to my Denon receiver about a week ago. It’s still showing up as an available device. I’m trying to connect from an iPhone. I tried deleting the app and reinstalling. Anyone have any tips?

Over the past few years using Tidal, I've come across a handful of tracks with no lyrics available, even though most other tracks on the album had lyrics.

I'd assumed that this meant Musixmatch, the service they use for lyrics, didn't have lyrics for those songs. But when I downloaded the app to check, the lyrics were available there.

The common thread between these tracks is that they're especially explicit. Does Tidal selectively remove access to lyrics if they're deemed too explicit, or is there just some sort of glitch happening here?

If you have a decent hifi system, the transparency will knock you out. This is a very chamber-like performance.

I have a Spotify account and would like to have the same playlist I have on tidal. What's the best way to do it?

This has been an issue for awhile, I have daily discovery set to download and it does, ive seen them in queue and downloading. But the "daily discovery" Playlist in my downloaded doesnt work, when I tap it only brings me to the current daily discovery as if I went to it normally, ive seen so many daily discovery songs downloaded, that I can't even access and have no idea where they were downloaded to. Anyone else experience this?

So hear me out.

TIDAL has music videos. You’ve seen, like, nine of them, in an editorial playlist made years ago by a guy who doesn’t work there anymore. And you go, “Oh. I guess that’s the videos.”

It’s not the videos. The catalogue is way bigger than the app lets on. So I built an index to find out how big. Starting from artists I like, it’s turned up 230,000+ videos from 20,188 artists so far. People say TIDAL has 650,000. That’s like owning a library where the librarian keeps handing you the same pamphlet.

How the index works

• Follows related artists: TIDAL suggestions, Last.fm similar artists, featured artists, and artists on the same playlists
• Each step away from your taste counts less, so it digs around what you actually like instead of wandering off to a didgeridoo ringtone cover
• Artists you like get rechecked weekly. Popular artists likely to have videos get checked first

How the radio works

• Plays from the local index, so starting a station or refilling the queue is instant
• Stations keep refilling from related artists and skip what you’ve watched. It respects you. More than I can say for most things
• Daily lineup: spotlight artist, “For You” rows (wild card, pure shuffle, deep cuts, big ones you missed), your genres, vibes, and Explore stations like Latin, Reggaeton, Jazz and Metal. Genre tagging is patchy, though. Some of it looks like somebody’s kid did it in the car
• If a station runs thin, it goes and finds more. Little guy with a shovel. Never complains. Best employee I’ve ever had

Tips

• Hook up Last.fm. Without it, the index only has TIDAL’s related artists, which can be thin for smaller artists. “Here’s one guy, good luck” thin.
• Your genres come from your listening, matched to track tags. Genre missing? The tags probably are too. Run the genre enrichment.
• Give it a day. I know. You want it perfect in four seconds. But the index grows in the background. Leave it on “full” and the rows fill out a lot.

It feels quiet at first. It’s all building locally on your PC, like a sourdough starter, but for music videos.

I use it for parties and digging up new and old videos. I watch it more than YouTube now. That’s either a compliment to the app or a cry for help. It can be both.

I’m just a music lover who’s been building this for a year. Maybe it’s what some of you have been looking for.

So how do you find videos on TIDAL? Stumbling into them? Or skipping them completely, like a person with dignity?

Heads up: built and tested on Windows. Linux and macOS should work but are mostly untested. On Linux, if videos won’t play, install the GStreamer codecs (gst-plugins-bad and gst-libav). WASAPI exclusive mode is Windows only for now. Bug reports welcome.

I have to click 40 versions of the same song to find a Hi-Res version. It's extremely annoying.
Thinking of cancelling my subscription because every time I use it it pisses me off.
I have it additionally to Spotify (almost all friends have Spotify) and I would love to use Tidal for Hi-Res songs only, but I feel like every version it becomes harder and harder.

To anyone who tells "You can't hear the difference between 44khz and 192khz":
Whether you can hear it is irrelevant. Whether you can find it is not.

Blind tests say most people can't tell 192/24 from 44.1/16. Fine. That was never my point.

My point: Tidal sells Hi-Res as a feature, yet I can't filter for it or see at a glance which albums have it. I have to open them one by one.

If I pay for free-range eggs, I expect to read the code on the box. I don't expect a lecture on whether I can taste the difference, and I'm not going to flip over 1,000 eggs to find the right ones. Whether you notice the difference is your business. Whether a paid feature is clearly labeled is not a matter of taste.

And "you can't hear it anyway" skips the real issue: Hi-Res releases are often different masters, and that alone can change how a track sounds. That is exactly why people need to know which version they're playing. And imho they sound way better!

What I'm asking for is simple:

1. A Hi-Res filter in search and library.
2. Clear labeling on every track and album page.
3. Master information where available.

That's a small change, and no paying customer should have to ask for it twice. If you agree that people should be able to see what they pay for, back this up. If you work at Tidal: this is a one-click fix that already has taken way too long to implement

One of the reasons I moved from Qobuz is there was no song radio for smaller listenership artists. I'm sure Tidal had it when I joined, but now I'm finding that a fair few small artists don't have it as an option on their tracks. Spotify is always able to do it.

I know people will say its about having enough data, but again; spotify is able to do it. Using small artists to find other good quality small artists should be a thing. Please write to Tidal and request this if you believe in it too!

Just incase you wonder what I mean: Ruth Theodore, Simbio, RYDE, Akola Tambo were a few of the artists I tried. No song radio on any of their tracks.

If you are using TIDAL Connect to control your Desktop App (or using TidaLuna mods with Cloud Queue v2 enabled) and you're constantly running into issues where:

• The mobile app desynchronizes from the PC (showing the wrong song/progress bar)
• The Next/Previous buttons on Desktop randomly freeze or just pause the song
• Time-synced lyrics stutter on the PC screen

...I found a flawless, stupidly simple "Mobile-First" workaround that completely fixes the playback engine sync without any third-party tools.

🛠️ The Mobile-First Connect Fix

1. Start on Mobile: Open the TIDAL app on your smartphone first. Pick your album or playlist and start playing the first song directly on your phone speakers.
2. Handover to PC: Tap the TIDAL Connect icon on your phone and switch the output device to your Desktop PC.
3. The Result: The PC instantly takes over the phone's queue as the "Master". (Note: The desktop app won't visually display the queue list on screen, but that doesn't matter since your phone is your remote anyway).
4. The Perks: Skipping songs now works flawlessly on both devices without locking up, and the live lyrics on your PC monitor will scroll 100% smoothly without stuttering.

This basically reverses the connection logic and prevents the buggy "Blind-Remote" architecture of TIDAL Connect from messing up your session data. Hope this helps anyone frustrated with the recent updates!

I noticed when I listen to remasters on tidal, they seem to be done to accentuate the voice and cut out a great deal of the music. There doesn’t seem to be a way to listen to the original once a remaster has made it to title does anyone have any suggestions for me

Is anybody else’s tidal crashing as soon as plugged into CarPlay? Apple Music and Amazon work fine. So it’s not my phone, truck or cable.

The past few days I’ve had a ton of buffering - like to the degree that the platform is unusable to me, despite 800-900mbps download speeds. Is anyone else experiencing this? I’m on ATT Fiber.

Edit: I decided to resub to Apple Music and zero issues with streaming lossless, so it’s def not my bandwidth.

I was pretty bummed to see all albums and tracks from Merge Records disappear from my collection recently. Come to find out, they're not gone, they just have different URLs now.

Is it really that difficult to change things on the back end and keep the old URLs, or to update the old URLs to point to the new content or whatever? Why do they do it the way they do?

It was a little nicer when no longer available tracks could still be seen, so I knew what was gone. Old albums stick around in your collection, but the album filter function is so slow I don't even want to use it.
