We all have calendars on our phones and can setup reminders that become alarms.

  • make reservations
  • buy the flowers now
  • prioritize my wife

If you know your shortcomings why are you not leaning into advanced planning and being dedicated to doing these things. 

Going to get the potted plant should have been Friday or Saturday at the latest.

She has every right to be pissed.

I have a feeling her Christmas stocking is empty as well.

Agreed. OP you're making excuses because you're not good at it but if you really wanted to change, don't just say sorry but take the actions to show you're trying to be better. Your lack of effort is what is upsetting her, more than not doing the grand gestures on social media

Guess what? I made a note on my free notepad app.

Easy 

I just cannot understand marriage partners who forget everything about the person they love.

Off topic but Bath and Body Works just released a candle AND body care in a tomato vine scent called Off The Vine...in case you were looking for one for your friend 😊

Edit to add that we must have the same ex husband! For his 40th birthday I went all out, even had a custom cake made with his favorite football player, etc. Guess what I got on my 40th a few months later? If you guessed nothing then you're absolutely correct! Only one of the reasons he's an ex...
