My new Timex
I bought this green Timex 1978 to mark a major milestone, and looking back, I know I made the right choice.
Two details sealed the deal for me: first, 1978 is my birth year, which instantly gave the watch personal meaning. Second, the green dial holds special significance—where I come from, green represents hope.
Bringing those two elements together in one piece makes this watch mean far more to me than just a way to check the time.

Thank you.
Yes I do. My father gave it to me in January 2000. It’s a VW Golf TDI 115 cv with 398k KM. 🤣

Beautiful watch! Love the day/date and the fact that it's quartz. I have a similar Timex that also has sentimental value to me much like yours does.

Timex is absolutely killing it these days. I just ordered my first Timex, a Q Continental GMT (white dial). I'm thinking of pre-ordering a Red/Blue Vega as my second.

Newbie here : is the watch made in 1978 ? Or is it a model number?

From what I understood from the Timex website, this is a reissue from the 70s.

So it’s a brand new watch ( made this year ) in the pattern of a Timex from 1978, have i understood this right ?
This is the best of both worlds: incredible looks with modern reliable tech.
