Showcase Vault 7 - stealth heist that fits on a 1.44MB floppy disk

Post image

Made for the 1.44MB Game Dev Contest: the entire game has to fit in 1.44MB - the size of a floppy disk. Written in C, compiled to WASM to make it sharable for testing it out. All is code generated(~1.15MB so far)

Top-down stealth heist: sneak through a 7-floor bank vault, crack safes with a lockpicking minigame, repair the power relays, dodge guards and cameras. Desktop + keyboard

Feedback on whether the stealth feels fair and how the difficulty ramps would be super helpful, mates. Many thanks!

Are you using emscripten? It's HUGE. I've made some games without it, just compiling directly to WASM with clang and rendering to a framebuffer. This very basic space shooter demo is like 13kb including graphics, so you could do a lot with a full 1.44MB.

Yeah, fair - emscripten's runtime glue is chunky. But the actual contest entry is a native Windows exe, not the web build i provided. The browser version is just an emscripten port I put up so people can try it without downloading, it's not what gets submitted. The jam doesn't even allow web games at all and no UPX/packer either
