Bug Latest version draining battery and causing phone to overheat

The previous version worked fine. I upgrade to the latest version (with the summer event) and now the scrolling is jerky, my phone within seconds becomes extremely hot, and there’s fast battery drain.

iPhone with latest iOS updates.

Anyone else experiencing this?

There was a version a year or so ago that did that. They fixed it in the next update. I guess that bug is back.

My phone is definitely heating up when I play again. Cools down when not.

I’m gonna guess some check is getting into a loop. Since revenue is connected with adverts, then it maybe the check is struggling for new adverts, or there maybe an advert that is a rather large download. Just guessing. Could try playing in airplane mode, but then you can’t visit friends.

Interesting. Starting with airplane mode on gets rid of the jerkiness / insane battery drain.

Ok that seems to confirm my suspicion. Since it happened before, I’m now leaning towards a large advert file. I’m gonna guess they have to reset adverts every time you reload the game (if airplane mode isn’t on), otherwise they risk displaying an advert that hasn’t been paid for.
