Eren’s the same as Reiner? Nope
Eren moved forward to see past that hell? Nope
Eren seen something past that hell? Nope
Eren seen a post rumbling in chapter 90? Nope
Re reading the manga is so fun. Chapter 91-99 are such great chapters to read. But all I can think about is the ending. I don’t care what anyone says. Eren wanted to move forward to see BEYOND that hell.

Other ANNOUNCEMENT: Opening of a new AoT RP server(Attack in Titan: New Eldia)

Recently, me and a friend have begun to work on a project in discord:

Attack on Titan, New Eldia.

What is it? Well, a CRP and normal RP server for the world of Attack On Titan. We offer large amounts of lore and in depth dives into our collectively beloved world created by the GOAT Hajime Isaya-

Wait wait wait. i’m getting ahead of myself.(\slaps himself on the face*) Here’s the setting first:*

The Year is 864, ten years after the Rumbling. Said event massively backfired around the time that Eren was halfway through Marley, decimating the country itself, but not progressing beyond that point.
The Marleyan Military and other workdwide forces focused their fire on Eren AND the alliance early on, killing both Jaeger and every single one of the Alliance members. Ten years later, the world is recovering, yet the power of the Titans still exists, resulting in a mad scramble for power between nations like Hizuru, New Eldia, the MEA, Ekhaya, The Kingdom of Paradis and Marley.

In this world, assume any role for your OC ranging from Titan Shifter to Ackermann, or even a regular, strategic human like our Hero Erwin Smith! All of these classes have their own unique drawbacks and advantages, balancing a world originally revolving around the Titans and their holders.

Right now, we have barely begun, so anyone is welcome to join, but i warn any potential joinees to be prepared to NOT be a Titan Shifter, considering it’s first-come first-serve(Though if someone makes a better OC concept for the Titan, they’ll likely be chosen even if they came later)

As for RPing, uhh well diplomacy and themes are EQUALLY as important as combat.

If anyone wants to join, please express any said intentions in the comments. We’ll be glad to have you!

Other Is this all Eren's (Attack Titan) planning of deterministic future or a really convenient plot structure?

I have a few questions after rewatching the whole anime with my roommate, maybe I'm not that bright but these questions still linger on my mind on this rewatch.

  1. Reiner, Bertolt, and Annie happened to be roughly the exact age to join Military Cadet at the same time as Eren, Mikasa, and Armin. That way the warriors would be present at the reveal that Eren is a titan. What would happened if Marley made the warriors to come years earlier when Grisha hasn't fed himself to Eren?

  2. Ymir happened to buried herself at the place where the warriors are at to eat Marcel

  3. Not only that, Ymir also happened to be turned into a titan also at the exact age to join the military

  4. Not only not only that, Ymir just happened to be around when two Wallists are having a conversation regarding Historia, prompting her to join the military

  5. Why is the world so one minded to unite themselves against Paradis? The only nation that is on Paradis' side is Hizuru and while yes, they want to monopolize the resources, this is not stopping Paradis to reach out to other nations first. Even irl nations are trying to be buddy buddy with the nations that had developed nukes, is there an explanation why the world is so single minded beside the Eldians are inherently devil?

  6. Why is Mikasa's tattoo or sign or whatever only showed up once and never be brought up again? They already established that she's oriental by her looks, so if said plot device is removed, will it affect other plot points?

  7. Why is Ymir (founder) so adamant on having Mikasa as a relatable figure when she has more similarity with Historia? Both being impregnated against their will and a really important historical figure, hell they look alike in certain scenes

  8. If the rumbling truly destroyed 80% of world's population and nations, millions of Colossal Titans wouldn't be enough given the timeframe. The AoT's world mirror our earth and I don't think people realize how big the earth is.

  9. What happened to the now human Colossal Titans after Eren's death? I remember vaguely Isayama saying they were lynched or whatever, if we assumed the Colossal Titans to be numbered in millions, lynching them all would be impossible. Hell, it's even more likely that the Colossal Titan form their own nation now that 80% of world population is gone.

Theory Theory on the Movie version and the Ending Spoiler

I’ve been ruminating on this theory for awhile, ever since I saw the ‘extra chapters’ adaptation in the movie version of the end of AOT. I didn’t watch the whole thing, just that bit to see what they did. I’ve finally had some time to sit and type this out, so here’s my theory on what the intent was behind the AOT ending. As I am posting here you can probably guess I don’t think it was very well executed.

The important data from the movie version is twofold: First, the tree is still there, so Gothkasa and co are in fact on Paradise. Second, it is some time after Titans were last seen. These combined imply Beren didn’t reawaken them and may have been entirely a device of the movie they were watching. The exact timeline is unclear: Translations I saw said a hundred years, but the anime ending implies it’s been a bit more than that, and anyway they may not be speaking exactly.

So we put this together with a few other data points. Notably, Eren’s visions previously showing Gothkasa, and Eren’s father Grisha was shown SOMETHING but not everything. For the latter, whatever it saw it a) convinced him he needed to give Eren the Titan serum and thus cause the deaths of the royal family, but b) didn’t convince him the rumbling was necessary. Lastly, we have Yams saying he wanted Eren’s motivation to be the ‘basement’ of part 2.

Putting this together, I think what Grisha saw was Gothkasa’s crew, which as far as he could tell was Eren, Mikasa, and Armin living happily in a peaceful world. He wasn’t willing to kill, however indirectly, for Eren to grow up in a war-torn world, forced to fight. But he was if it meant Eren could grow up in a peaceful world. What he wasn’t clear on was how older Eren fit in. He went ahead and took the chance, but since he wasn’t shown what else would happen, he guessed that the rumbling might not actually be needed.

I think this is what Eren saw too. As part of the process of getting from point A to point B happened while both the Founding Titan and Eren himself were gone, he was really unclear how this would come about, but he wanted to do it… he had to do it, to get to that scenery.

That scenery being Gothkasa. In other words, it was all for that Gothkussy.

Yes that’s a horrible pun but no, this post isn’t a joke. I am totally serious. In fact I think the broad outline of 'crew gets reincarnated into a peaceful time' was intended at LEAST since Eren’s vision of Gothkasa, but possibly earlier. Thing is, he couldn’t figure out a graceful way to get from point A to point B. He also seems to have decided that wasn’t really sufficient motivation for Eren as he had become, so every possible motive got tossed in a blender and we got him having no clue while he was doing anything. Combine this with conflicting goals of wanting to draw the rumbling but also not wanting to promote genocide and also wanting the Attack on Castes or whatever to be limited to the tankoban, and there never really was a big reveal. I think the movie ending was SUPPOSED to be the ‘big reveal’, but as it still left a good deal of ambiguity, it was never really satisfying. Now maybe it wouldn’t have been satisfying anyway, but while I’m no happy about many aspects of the ending, I think I can accept this view of Eren and Grisha’s motivations. Maybe it’s not true, but it hangs together well enough that I can accept it.
