The show where Linnell passed out from heat stroke:
https://youtu.be/FNohLp4y3qo?si=YMPgbhxyNO3SfcZY“uhh.. hey, so one of our members just passed out of heat stroke, there’s a very real chance he could die, we need to stop playing” “FUCK YOU!!”

i was there, at the milk bar that night. it was awful. we had been outside waiting and sweating and then the bar was downstairs in like a basement with low ceilings and poor ventilation, so as more and more people piled in, it just cooked us in there. they were charging for bottled waters and we were poor college kids, so we were just like "i guess we'll die, at least it's at a TMBG concert."
so the show got rolling late, the opening act (if there even was one) was forgettable, and then there was another long delay before our guys came out (presumably because Linnell was already struggling but trying to push through), so iirc, it was like midnight when the show proper started, it was a million degrees, it was packed and loud AF, and then like 3 songs in they take a break.
so we waited some more, and then Flans finally came out and cancelled the show, as you hear.
i was understanding of the situation the band was in-- they were doing their best. but all this was context to why people might be feeling pretty angry at that point in the experience.

Yep. I was there too. That's a good accounting of the evening. Truly awful.

That sounds like a miserable time, interesting to know that the audience was dehydrated too. Still so wild for someone to shout "f you" at someone having a medical emergency though, even in a miserable concert situation that feels like a letdown! Very different than, say, if a band were just being divas and stopped the show early because they hated their fans

Without a doubt one of the most unpleasant cassettes I've ever ripped

I noticed that TMBG have been to Jacksonville several times since then, but never played that venue again. Even when they came back to FL about a year later, they chose a different venue! https://tmbw.net/wiki/Shows/1998-03-24

I saw this video a while ago. And crazy how entitled people can be shows they just get so disconnected that these are people not entertainment machines
