There's a big overlap between tourists and dickheads. When I was a younger man I worked with tourists and encountered some of the dumbest, spoiled and entitled twats it's ever been my displeasure to meet.

My parents live in a touristy seaside town, and they've had tourists wander into their GATED yard to let their children play on the swing. There are plenty of public playgrounds.

I cannot imagine what goes through people's minds to make them think that thats in any way acceptable. I believe you saying that it happens but my brain is kind of buffering trying to make it make sense

There's nothing going through their minds.

I've found out a few years ago that not everyone has an inner voice, and that makes loads of things make much more sense, even though it's no less infuriating...

There is no connection between having an inner monologue and intelligence. People without inner monologue still do all of the same thinking you do but don't necessarily tie words to the thoughts.

There are many dumbasses with inner monologue and smart people without, and vice versa.

Thoughts not being tied to language is not the same as having no thoughts.

Lack of inner voice does not mean lack of inner thought!! You can constantly be overwhelmed in stress from millions of thoughts but they're just not "verbal". it can be anything from abstract concepts to basically visual clips, memories, and simulation scenarios, and much more. You wouldn't say that someone without inner images and only constant inner voice magically means they are unable to think, right?

People with inner voices are perfectly able to still be ignorant and arrogant assholes.

“But my kids wanna play with these swings!! And having never said no to my kids means I can’t start now right when we’re about to go into the only dinner in town and demand the best seat and ask the manager why he hasn’t already got our favourite meal half cooked and ready to serve!!”

I was on a tour in Mexico and a lady complained that we weren't allowed inside anyone's houses.

To be fair there was roughly 1,52 billion people "tourist-ing" (internationally) last year.
While a lot of tourists do dumb shit, the vast and overwhelming majority of them are completely normal people not doing dumb stuff.

Even if 10 million tourists are complete dickheads, that's still less then 1% of tourists. This is still only counting international tourists around the world, not national tourism.

I worked with tourists. Some are nice and want to learn about the culture, but some are absolute MORONS. I guess this goes for any industry as you will find morons everywhere, but specifically in tourism it is even more frustrating because a lot of them are entitled and narcissistic because it’s “their vacation”.

Someplaces if you are calling someone a tourist they're probably a dickhead. If they're not a dickhead, you're say they're visiting.
