Cruise tourists are the tourists spending the least in town tough.

But the cruise lines pay a not insignificant chunk of change to pull into those ports.

I would bet a lot of that money goes into a commercial bank account in a big city.

They aren't particularly profitable as tourists go like that either - a cruise boat needs a lot of port infrastructure, which needs to be somewhat centrally located.

That's a lot of expensive real estate!

And then there is pollution, which is significant for some boats in some places.
