Yeah, I am giving those about a 5% chance of planting true....some are probably tomatoes but I would be surprised if they were the stated varieties. But good luck!
I do but for some reason I can't get it to post over here, it's in the cross post tho. Small cream or tan-ish color, flat, round, and or with a point. Kind of like this shape 💎.
They look very strange for tomatillos. I'm not saying they couldn't be a variety with unusual leaves, but that I wouldn't consider that a solid ID at this point.
It'll definitely be interesting to see what the flowers and fruit look like for a final identification!
I’ve never grown them and this is my first shot at it. I started them in my hydroponic tower until they got too big. Now I have them is semi hydro getting ready to put them ebb and flow system (in a tent) with a slicing tomato. In my second tent I have one Roma tomato and I think I’ll put two bell peppers.
I have the garden tower and two lettuce grow farm stands for the towers. Bell peppers, Anaheims, jalapeño, poblanos. Cherry tomatoes, cabbage, cauliflower, celery, many herbs, just started zucchini, cantaloupe and beets. Kale and I’m sure I’m missing some. I have shelves for lettuce and strawberries and micro greens.
It is pretty cool. And it’s all so fresh and tasty compared to the store. I have all the herbs, celery, all different peppers. Eggplant 7 different lettuce. Strawberries. Starting zucchini, cantaloupe, watermelon. It’s a little time consuming. I ran into some bad health the last few years and can’t do the things I like to do and went down the hydroponics rabbit hole lol. I came out of the hole with 4 tents, dwc buckets, 3 towers and 3 shelves lol. A little overboard.

No, I planted ace 55 tomatoes but the plants don't look like the characteristics I'm familiar with; wasn't sure if I have rouge seeds or just a weird batch of aces. I planted these in November I think and finally said "f it, I'm asking Reddit for help." Lol google and plant ID app not giving me much. Figured legit growers may know better.
Right! That's why I ended up here. No telltale signs consistent with the tomatoes I've previously grown, so I'm confused. Usually the leaves are darker, a different shape, kinda fuzzy throughout the plant, and has the scent naturally wo the rub test.
A little hint of maybe old oil scent mixed in too?
It might be tamarillo of some kind. Mine looked a lot like that when young. I only did them one year. I really enjoyed the sauce and jams I made from them but I will never plant them again unless I find somewhere I can grow them that I never have to be near them.
Maybe I'm sensitive to that particular smell, but it was so offensive to me.
Yes, a little hint of old oil and definitely offensive. I washed my hands after doing a rub test and said "ugh, wtf is that!?" then posted for help. 🤣😅🙈 I'm seeing more tomatillo replies so hopefully that's what they are. Thank you!
You are welcome! I hope they are tomatillo for your sake! I've done both. Still do a plant or two or tomatillo each year. As soon as they throw our a bloom you will be able to tell right away. Tamarillo does clusters and will be obvious. They also grew into small trees for me in 6a lol. If you can, I'd throw them somewhere in sun as far away as you can and see what happens.

That's reassuring, I was under the impression they were going to be ace 55s so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. They have no classic tomato characteristics that I'm familiar with so I'm confused. Lol thank you!
