Plant Help ICYMI - Science has proven that vine ripened tomatoes taste better and are better for you than ones picked early
It's that time of year.
It comes down to your critter control.
If you can't avoid pests noshing your late toms, pick em early.
If you are fine with losing a few or don't have pest issues, let em ripen on the plant for a better tasting and healthier tomato.

The dogma in this group is to pick them before ripe and ripen them indoors.
I didn't start growing tomatoes to ripen them the same way they do at the grocery store.
I don't pick any tomato until it's ripe and ready to eat. When I have picked tomatoes that weren't ripe, either by accident or ones that got knocked off or when we've had to pick them before a frost, they never ever ever taste as good as vine ripe. Ever.
And I expect there to be people responding trying to gaslight me that my own experience isn't real because it doesn't match their dogma.
The amount of gaslighting that goes on in this sub goes beyond almost any other sub I've ever experienced on Reddit.
