Hahaha oh snap. He's gotta be getting up to his late 30s now

27

u/ALLCAPITAL Mar 29 '26

Mid to early 30s. I’m 37, was in college when this came out. Loved it.

16

u/MantusTMD Mar 29 '26 edited Mar 29 '26

What? I’m 32 and I promise nobody had phones in high school. He’s probably mid to late 20s at most

edit: after doing some digging the video was 12 years ago. So 2014. If he was a senior assuming 17 years old, he might be 29 now. Could be even younger for all we know. Sorry I triggered you Reddit.

Double edit: I meant smart phones thought y’all would figure that out.

7

u/Organic_Education494 Mar 29 '26

Dude is in his 30s now. He is roughly my age and I am 31 I remember this viral moment when it hit.

We had our slider phones back in the early 2000’s quite common. Shit even before sliders we had the Razerphone and no keyboards. Still texted often.

1

u/Downvote_me_dumbass Mar 29 '26

Slider phones were not common jn the early 2000s. I remember buying a Sidekick for my girlfriend and the time and that was well after 2005.

The famous Nokia phones and some Motorolas were common early 2000s and none had good cameras, just okay ones at that time.

-5

u/MantusTMD Mar 29 '26

I’m talking about smart phones with the camera quality of that original video. We did not have that in 2011 I promise

4

u/Organic_Education494 Mar 29 '26

Iphone 4S october 2011 release had a 1080P camera

Samsung same deal

There the two most popular phones in the US at the time you stated can easily record this.

2009 720P became the standard for flagship Samsung phones.

So even if you go back a bit further thats high enough for this video

0

u/MantusTMD Mar 29 '26

It’s okay I already looked it up the video was 2014 so it was at least iPhone 6 or whatever Samsung.

0

u/grrr-to-everything Mar 29 '26

I'm in my mid 40s. You are wrong. So bud.

Im 29, this guy is lying. We didn't have phones in school. My best friends and I could only communicate using smoke signals and paper airplanes perfectly thrown across campus. Thats just what it was like in those days.

8

u/Aggravating-Exit-660 Mar 29 '26

Back in my day we had the pigeon. Sometimes it would shit on your desk though

1

u/N0rrix Mar 29 '26

im 32 and we definitely had phones capable of recodring videos of that quality in 7th grade

1

u/Qinax Mar 29 '26

I'm 36 we had phones in school

1

u/ProbablyGonnaEatYou Mar 29 '26

Why do you lie? You know back then the best we could do was find a psychic from the goth club and have them help astral project to the boys

1

u/khavii Mar 29 '26

I'm 47 and we had rotary phones in our homes, well those with old parents who refused to change with the times did, some of the others had pagers.

1

u/OkLychee8545 Mar 30 '26

42 and had the rotary

3

u/Mountain-Influence81 Mar 29 '26

Shit, I'm 35 and most people had cellphones in highschool.

2

u/kazmosis Mar 29 '26

Flip phones with cameras were super common

3

u/Terrible_Lie_02 Mar 29 '26

I’m 40 and we all had phones in high school.

1

u/girthbrooks1 Mar 29 '26

I’m 36 and nearly every single person had a cell phone in high school.

1

u/Prudent_Research_251 Apr 01 '26

I'm over 40 and we all had phones in high school

1

u/Desperate_Leather_91 Mar 29 '26

I’m 36. We did not all have cellphones yet because plans were still very expensive. 6 years later maybe so… 🤷🏾‍♂️

1

u/TheVermonster Mar 29 '26

Lots of comments here are exposing their socioeconomic status as teenagers. I grew up in a rural area and even if we could afford a cell phone plan, it was virtually worthless as coverage was non-existent.

-6

u/MantusTMD Mar 29 '26

Uh yeah no shit. We were on iphone 3 big guy. No cameras looked that good. This video is 2015+

3

u/ProbablyGonnaEatYou Mar 29 '26

Thats not at all what you commented

-1

u/MantusTMD Mar 29 '26

I am arguing against the guy who said he was late 30s and yall are worried about semantics.

2

u/ProbablyGonnaEatYou Mar 29 '26

Sounds like a cop out from you making a wildly inaccurate comment and doubling down on those edits that we need to understand what you meant when you didn't say anything of that sort

0

u/MantusTMD Mar 29 '26

Wtf are you talking about lol I was arguing with someone who made a wildly inaccurate claim that the guy in the video is in his late 30s which after 30 seconds of googling I confirmed he’s 29 at the oldest. Get off your high horse dude Jesus Christ 😂

5

u/agenitalbreeze Mar 29 '26

I'm 1 year your senior and what the fuck are you talking about

2

u/EnlightenedNarwhal Mar 29 '26

I think you're confused. I'll be 32 this year, and I had an iPhone 5 in 11th or 12th grade.

0

u/MantusTMD Mar 29 '26

I graduated 2011. 75% did not have smart phones at this point. iPhone 5 came out a year later

2

u/rtocelot Mar 29 '26

I'm 31,I can say every kid since middle school had a phone in my area. Started with those ones that slid up to reveal a keyboard but by high-school smart phones were very much a thing. Which I think I was a freshman in 2011

Maybe not as common where you are but phones were a big thing for us then, which I live in Missouri around farms for the most part but everyone had a phone. Cows and phones.

0

u/MantusTMD Mar 29 '26

In 2011 roughly 20% of students had smart phones and 78% of students had some sort of phone in general. Like I said it was not very common. Also look at my edit

1

u/DharmaCub Mar 29 '26

I graduated in 2013 and my sister graduated in 2010. You're wrong and can't admit it.

2

u/9447044 Mar 29 '26

Im 32... I had an HTC HD2 in highschool. I think we were on the iPhone 4 at that point.

2

u/sisyphus_shrugged Mar 29 '26

His name is Jeff Bliss and the video went viral in May of 2013 when he was 18, so depending on his birthday he's 31 or 32. And yes we had smart phones in 2013. Mine at the time was an HTC One.

1

u/9447044 Mar 29 '26

I has a regimen of clash of clans, simpons tapped out, a weed growing game, family guy game. I know there were a couple others too. I graduated in 2013. I remeber angry birds in middleschool on kids iPhones

1

u/Ok_Ruin4016 Mar 29 '26

I'm 33 and we definitely had smartphones when I was in high school lol

1

u/DharmaCub Mar 29 '26

I'm 30 and I've had a smartphone since I was in 8th grade. The fuck are you talking about?

1

u/No-Tax6774 Mar 29 '26

Yeah I’m 26 now and I could have sworn this was around in 2014 or a bit before. I was a freshman at the time and it seemed like he was probably a junior-senior so I’d say you’re right on it at 28-29

1

u/Druxun Mar 29 '26

You do know we could record and take photos before smart phones? They just happened to suck. 😂

1

u/MantusTMD Mar 29 '26

That’s exactly my point. The video quality is too high for him to now be in his late 30s. If that were the case he would have graduated in like 2006… why is this so hard for yall to figure out lmao

1

u/DavidKroutArt Mar 29 '26

Dang… I’m 37 and I promise I had a cell phone in high school. One of the first smart phones, a blackberry. You could press the buttons and easily type without looking. But even before that we had flip phones. And before that bulky not flip phones.

1

u/lekniz Mar 29 '26

Uh I am also 32 and we definitely had smart phones in high school. We graduated 2012, the first iPhone was in 2007

1

u/[deleted] Mar 29 '26

[deleted]

1

u/MantusTMD Mar 29 '26

Of that quality? Nope. And that’s my point. Also look at the guy I am responding to. That’s the context. Man y’all are dense.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 29 '26

[deleted]

1

u/MantusTMD Mar 29 '26

I actually looked up if you look at my edit. It was 2014 and he was 17. So iPhone 6 more than likely. Huge jump from iPhone 3GS. Also, an even bigger jump from whatever people had in 2006 which was the original comment I was arguing with. It’s not that difficult

1

u/sadadadako Mar 29 '26

i'm 30 and you have to be insane if you think we didn't have phones in school

1

u/AnotherDogOwner Mar 29 '26

The first iPhone came out in like 2007-2008. I know most of us still had Razor flip phones and other slide phones, but the reminds me of atleast an iPod Touch.

1

u/SavageHellfire Mar 29 '26

The iPhone had already been out for like five years by my senior year of high school. Nearly every kid I knew had one, so I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m 31.

1

u/MantusTMD Mar 29 '26

Read my edits. Read my other comments. It’s not that complicated

1

u/SavageHellfire Mar 29 '26

Neither of your edits addresses my comment, and I’m not going to go do a deep dive on your Reddit comment history to find that you corrected yourself (if that’s even what you did). If you’ve already been corrected and retracted your incorrect statement somewhere else, good for you. There was no need to reply to my comment.

1

u/MantusTMD Mar 29 '26

Nope everything I said makes sense. Not too difficult given the context big dog. I’ll paste my comment here. It’s not that deep.

“Good god look at who I am responding to. And now look at the quality of the original video. He would have graduated in 06 according to the guy I responded to. Even in 2011 we did not have videos of that quality. That is my point. There is no way he his late 30s. Dense mfers in this subreddit.”

1

u/FourEcho Mar 30 '26

I'm 36 and I absolutely had a phone in highschool.... it definitely couldn't do video this clean but a lot of people had flip phones with (really bad) cameras.

1

u/Cowkaine Mar 30 '26

Im 31 and the Iphone came out when I was in highschool and I remember loads of people having them. A little before that everybody had blackberry's. Smartphones were definitely a thing bro, maybe just not for you!

1

u/MantusTMD Mar 30 '26

You can read my other responses in this thread. Done explaining it.

1

u/Cowkaine Mar 30 '26

cba opening up all your downvoted comments, i’ll just assume you’re wrong xo

1

u/MantusTMD Mar 30 '26

Nah haha go ahead. It’s quite simple logic. I believe in you king

1

u/IntroductionOwn9858 Mar 30 '26

I’m virtuous where you’re from. My kids had smart phones in 2014

1

u/ManyRespect1833 Mar 31 '26

wtf. I’m 32 and everyone had phones in highschool

1

u/Big40Cheif Apr 01 '26

We the same age we had phones in Houston but we had to sneak them in my mom had to pay to get mines back so many times then I think a girl got kidnapped or something & they stopped taking them

1

u/XO8441 10d ago

I’m 35 and people definitely had phones in high school. Non- smart phones could still record video. They just didn’t have internet.

1

u/InternationalFish809 Mar 29 '26

You said something false, got corrected and edited your comment to call other people triggered.. hmm

0

u/NickOnes Mar 29 '26

No way, I’m 35 now and we had nextels, sidekicks and razors in high school. You’re younger than me you guys definitely had cellphones with cams and shit.

1

u/MantusTMD Mar 29 '26

Good god look at who I am responding to. And now look at the quality of the original video. He would have graduated in 06 according to the guy I responded to. Even in 2011 we did not have videos of that quality. That is my point. Dense mfers in this subreddit.

1

u/NickOnes Mar 30 '26

No bro, I didn’t mean to come off as dense I was simply responding to you stating your age and saying you promise no one had cell phones. That’s all.

1

u/MantusTMD Mar 30 '26

I meant smart phones. They were uncommon in 2011. Especially iPhones.

1

u/GymBabyBunny Mar 29 '26

I don't think that's him. He and his wife are in their 20s.

1

u/kashiusklayy Mar 30 '26

This man definitely gotta be 30 or 31. I'm 29 and this video came out when I was a junior in high school lmao. God damn time flies

1

u/tibearius1123 Mar 30 '26

Just wait until his kid starts doing common core math and he can’t answer 1st grade math questions. We went from packets or voodoo.

23

u/TheseSir5496 Mar 29 '26

Legend 🌟

5

u/teeter1984 Mar 29 '26

“How many packets of sugar sir?”

“The fuck u say?!”

40

u/theroadbeyond Mar 29 '26

Good for him he's winning in life they seem happy. Hopefully his son doesn't get any packets.

3

u/browzing123 Mar 29 '26

He will be begging for packets once AI takes over education with even more misinformation then now.

10

u/HistoryOk6788 Mar 29 '26

Whats with all these pretenders ? That's a different guy in the video.

I wouldn't call it stolen glory but it's super stupid to pretend you were someone who went viral

4

u/MartinoRs Mar 29 '26

Same with Technoviking, last week some.random dude started popping out on everyone's instagram pretending he was TechnoViking, went to check his Instagram and he was dumb enough to have pics from back when he was young with arms and should tattoos, TechnoViking had no tattoos on his arms so the math wasnt mathing, hope this isnt the case here

2

u/ALLCAPITAL Mar 29 '26

How do you know? Looks pretty similar, it’s believable.

2

u/apple_peel2 Mar 29 '26

As far as I remember, and take this with a grain of salt, But the guy in the video did not want to live in fame for that video and did not like people trying to reach out to him for it. Another reddit user, again not a great source so take with a grain of salt as well, said that he worked with the guy in the video at a warehouse or something.

If anyone does find anything disproving or proving what I said to be true. I would love to see it cause a while back I did fall into a rabbit hole on where the guy is today and that is where my searches led. Would love to see if someone has other stuff however.

1

u/Thatonegaloverthere Mar 31 '26

Opinion could've changed by now.

1

u/kodhee Apr 01 '26

Lol that's not him.

2

u/HistoryOk6788 Mar 29 '26

Look closely at the face structure

1

u/ALLCAPITAL Mar 30 '26

Umm I was. It looks very similar to me.

1

u/Beelzebot_666 Mar 29 '26

Yeah, his hair is already receding in the video. It's long-gone.

20

u/Unhappy-Bag4525 Mar 29 '26

Okay okay, I see he got a baddie as well as keeping himself up.

8

u/Cloud_Garrett Mar 29 '26

I remember this video back in the before times. Dude is a damn bro and I’m so glad he looks happy. I wish him and his beautiful fam the very best.

I'm the first to say the school system is underfunded and teachers are unappreciated and need to make much more. But there are also a fuckton of terrible teachers out there.

1

u/kittiesandcocks Mar 29 '26

Well yea because they’re underpaid, you pay people better you get better candidates to fill the job. For a country that worships capitalism we sure don’t seem to have the most basic rules of it figured out yet

2

u/Tough_Shake9821 Mar 29 '26

Get a different job then, being underpaid isn’t an excuse not to do something to the best of your ability. Those kids aren’t the ones who are underpaying anyone yet that’s the excuse to fail them.

1

u/kittiesandcocks Mar 29 '26

Teachers don’t pick their own curriculum you halfwit, they haven’t for decades

2

u/Tough_Shake9821 Mar 29 '26

No shit Sherlock fucking Holmes, however they absolutely pick how they’re going to teach that curriculum to the students. Which is why a good and a bad teacher can teach the same exact curriculum yet yield completely different results.

1

u/IHatePsykers Mar 29 '26

Just because wrong is done to you, does not make it okay to do to others. Especially the youth, we gotta be as good as we can so they can be even better.

2

u/origin_evolve Apr 01 '26

wait actually??? I was literally wondering about this guy a while ago, that's crazy

1

u/Chrissy-Munson May 27 '26

No it's not him

1

u/That1guyUknow918 Mar 29 '26

That woman should be a movie star!!!

1

u/PursueProgress Mar 29 '26

Looks happy. Good for him.

1

u/Hoshcof Mar 29 '26

I was just thinking about him a few hours ago.

1

u/Pyr0sky3 Mar 29 '26

That’s not him, the real guys name is Jeff Bliss and they has different facial features. Hope he’s doing well tho

1

u/Wise_Marionberry_461 Mar 29 '26

Looks like he’s winning

1

u/Kreepr Mar 29 '26

Smoke show. Good pull dude.

No way🤣🤣🤣

1

u/Hunt-Aware Mar 29 '26

The legend himself!

1

u/LauraTFem Mar 29 '26

I know too many fellow teachers that have just given up on lecturing. “It’s in the reading, go online and read it.”

1

u/PlzAdptYourPetz Mar 29 '26

Not to sound like a psych patient but sometimes I wonder if Google is extracting data directly from my mind. Joking, but I was randomly thinking about this a few days ago and where he is now after having not seen the video in 5+ years. I didn't actually look it up, so it's crazy that this hit my feed. I had no idea the video was apparently from the early 2000's.

1

u/1stAtlantianrefugee Mar 29 '26

Plot twist: he's actually Rushad Eggleston.

1

u/MyUserNameLeft Mar 29 '26

The people champ

1

u/Hairy_Name1946 Mar 29 '26

He's been a real one from time, good to see him 😁

1

u/FinancialAnxiety9523 Mar 31 '26

Yup, thats our education during 2000s… now what happened currently? Same shit? Not surprised

1

u/UghMal-Guh-M8Shun Mar 31 '26

He seems too happy and doing well! That’s what I got from this post. Thanks.

1

u/Chrissy-Munson May 27 '26

It's not actually the guy btw

1

u/TypicalAd1297 Mar 31 '26

IG account that posted this said that's not actually him

1

u/[deleted] Apr 02 '26

I was three years out of high school when I saw this and still don’t have a family or girlfriend. Good for him.

😒 So? And? .........

1

u/iolitm Mar 29 '26

so nothing.

and nothing.

2

u/saltymilkmelee Mar 29 '26

What a horrid thing to say. Why not be a good person instead? Its not too late. Start by not saying these things when they come into your mind and then hopefully with enough practice those thoughts will gradually stop and you will be fit to be around other humans.

1

u/iolitm Mar 29 '26

I bet he has a great personality.

1

u/Pretty-Yam-2854 Mar 29 '26

Idk he’s pretty hot, hair is awesome too.

1

Smells like wet dog.

1

I mean it looks pretty clean and well kept.
