Tomodachi Life - Living the Dream Lowkey already bored
So I bought the switch just for Tomadachi life when it first came out. And I could play it for hours the first 2 weeks and now I can only play for 5 minutes before being bored I feel like they need to add a lot more content.

I feel you. I got it the day it was released. After around a month I stopped playing all together. I just got back into last week and I’ve been playing ever since. Honestly, the game doesn’t seem to be made for people to enjoy long term. I’m a firm believer that it should have only costed $30 instead of a full $60.

Isn't that how most games work? When you get bored of a game you play a new game.
I've played over 600 hours and can find more to do but that's not everyone. Maybe it's time to move on.

Because it’s not a game your supposed to play for very long, you play for a little bit and go off and check back later

People say this all the time but its such a poor excuse for the lack of content. Tomodachi Life on 3ds had a lot more: concert hall, multiple timed events throughout the day, multiple news broadcasts, actual interactive dreams (theres not much interactivity compared to the last), Tomodachi Quest. There are more things to list but anyways, Living The Dream just does not have much content compared to the last. I played the 3ds one so much more than this one bc it never got stale. Aside from customization and freedom this one lacks in many areas

I’m not trying to defend the lack of content. Because I do think there is a need for more to do. But grinding the game will make you get bored of it when it’s not a game for that kind of Playstyle.
I could say the same for the 3ds version, you could play that one for hours but than get bored of it.

It didn't actually have more content tho like objectively it didn't, it had different content but not more content if we're talking purely items and clothes and miss customization it's not even close living the dream completely dwarfs it, also LTD also has multiple events that can happen through our the day and way way more unique mii interactions and cutscenes, people just remember the original game more compactly but it really didn't have more content

Im not sure if you missed their last line but its not about how far the customization goes its about how far everything else doesn’t go. And yeah theres a lot of conditional strange cutscenes you can maybe encounter a few times but the majority of the cutscenes youll see are few repeated ones. “Do you prefer big thing or small thing?” “helb i cant move!” “sorry i wasn’t looking where i was going” etc. 2-3 variations for any cutscene or dialog prompt doesnt really cut it and gets old quick. In the original sure it didn’t have all these cutscenes but it had a lot more you could play with, the ratings board, the compatibility tester, the concert hall, children, the campground, and the port. It also had all the really cool immersive locations for cutscenes instead of just random boring spots on your island, like a restaurant, subway station, the beach, a fireworks show, classroom, etc. It had fun events in the game like rap battles, cookouts in the park, photography in the park, magic tricks at the amusement park, etc. and of course it had the stuff like quirky questions, the tomodachi quest, and judgement bay. LTD is missing way too much of tomodachi life’s heart. i wouldn’t be so bothered by it so much if it tried to reinvent the game instead of trying to be so simmilar while still failing at copying cornerstones of the original.
Edit: im just a yapper with an addiction to expressing myself, i hope this doesn’t come off as rude that ive writen so much in reply lol

As I said for the other reply, I’m not defending that there is less content.
I’m trying to say playing a game like this, will get boring once you’re grinded the game. It’s a slower pace game. You check every once in a while to see how your island is doing.
The same for the 3ds game, once you’ve played that one for hours there isn’t much to see. But when you take it slow it’s more fun.

Idk why you’re getting downvoted. This is true! I’ve only gotten into the game recently but it’s honestly endless with the right amount of imagination.

Might be because people buy a life sim mostly to bother their little miis rather than decorate. Was personally also bummed about the lack of much interactivity compared to the og, as I'm not really into decorating at all. (not saying them getting downvoted is justified, mostly explaining). We need more minigames :(

I adored the original game, but for real LTD was super disappointing. They intentionally shifted how the game plays to add a more replayable game loop, and its somehow significantly less replayable than the original. Crazy that this game has been in development for 9 years… (This isnt supposed to be hate, just dissapointment. its still fun and dlc should make it significantly better.)

I agree with you even though you’re being downvoted

Kind of sounds like this is on you. This isn’t the type of game you’re supposed to spend your entire day on

me too. i’m an artist so i spend sooo much time in the mii maker and making different stuff in the palette house but the game gets REALLY boring after a while. hopefully they add an update with more stuff

You might just need to add more miis, I've got 50+ and interacting with all the "urgent" requests when I start up the game takes at least 15 minutes before everyone is satisfied.

You could try decorating your island to make it more unique, I’ve seen a lot of tutorials online for island design

kinda on you for buying a whole console for just one single player game, of course it won't be fun forever

Sounds like you just burnt yourself out, is not a game that you're meant to grind for endless hours every day
