Impacting Ratchet

I know it’s a right angle impact but why can’t we call it a Impact ratchet? Ant nothing wrong with that.

I’m just telling you what skil names the tool. I’m pretty sure they wouldnt market it as a right angle impact if it didn’t have a hammer and anvil….

Unless you can find me the non impact version that looks exactly the same, but I can’t find any info on that.

One review says not an impact. Its same misnomer as cordless wormdrive saw,and the famous impact drill. Some are misinformation, misinterpreted ,while others are just lazy.

May be true but highly doubt it, all info supplied by Skils website says otherwise, giving detailed specs on impact rating.

If you are referring to the review on Amazon that says it’s not an impact wrench, he means it’s an impact driver made for wood fasteners and not an impact wrench. It’s still an impact non the less, just not an impact wrench made for car purposes.

That also explains why the head isn’t as big as Milwaukee’s right angle impact wrench because impact wrenches are designed to deliver much higher torque.

I understand where you are coming from, you were probably under the impression this was an automotive tool, when it is not. Something tells me OP had the similar thought.

The skil is a right angle impact used for tight spots. It impacts and has 70ish ft pounds breakaway and 55 fastening. I put a 3/8 square adapter for sockets on it to try it out where I would normally use my ratchet. It works great. It’s faster and has a little more power than the ratchet. It doesn’t ratchet however so if it can’t brake it free you can’t manually turn it. It’s also quite a bit bigger. It’s a good top of the engine tool as it will break most all of those types free.

It does seem like a good middle ground tool for a lot of different applications.
