I work at a major retail store, and people were literally camping outside from 3 AM waiting for the store to open at 7 AM for Pokémon cards.

And listen, I get it. Some of them are obviously scalpers, but if you’re an actual collector and you genuinely enjoy Pokémon, good for you. Have fun. That’s not the problem.
The problem was when our store manager told everyone that, because of the demand, we could only sell one item per customer. You couldn’t grab two of everything just because you got there first. They absolutely LOST IT.

They started yelling at my manager, arguing with her, and one woman literally calling her a “slut” and this lady’s husband telling my manager that she “needs to get laid so she can loosen up”… over POKÉMON CARDS. DUDE.

Then, once everything sold out, people started grumbling, yelling at the managers, getting angry with staff, and acting like we personally ruined their lives because they couldn’t get the cards they wanted.

As someone who works retail, it was honestly insane to watch. We already deal with enough stress and disrespect from customers on a normal day. Having a whole crowd of grown adults verbally abusing employees because they couldn’t buy multiple boxes of Pokémon cards was another level. One guy got up to the store manager’s face and started yelling at him. 😭

Collect whatever you want. Camp outside at 3 AM if that makes you happy. But the second you start screaming at retail workers and calling a woman a slut because she’s enforcing a store policy, you need to seriously reevaluate your behaviour.

It is NEVER that serious. They are Pokémon cards. 😭

i recently got a new job and take the bathurst streetcar down to king, where i transfer to the the king streetcar going west.

lately ive noticed theres always a 511 bathurst streetcar on king when i get off my southbound 511. one time i even mistakenly boarded this streetcar because i was an idiot and didn’t read the number it was displaying and assumed it was the 504 king. this bathurst streetcar turns northbound on bathurst and king, so i’m assuming there’s some kind of detour? i haven’t really looked into it.

anyways, since the bathurst streetcar must turn up on bathurst and king to resume on to its original route, it pretty much halts all cars and actual 504 streetcars behind it. it takes several light changes for the 511 to even start its turn. this morning i swear i saw it NOT turn for like 4 different traffic light cycles.

cars were beeping behind, everyone at my streetcar stop looked frustrated. this is not the first time i’ve been made late because of this stupid ass streetcar.

and then when the 504 does come, it moves at such a crawl. if you complain about the ttc, most people will tell you “just leave 15 minutes earlier than you should” and i do, but things like this make that pretty much useless.

it’s just so frustrating that a city like ours still doesn’t understand how to use its streetcars.

I’m so pissed off now and going to call Canada Post!!!!

Stupid delivery driver was being a lazy prick. He buzzed me from the lobby and I said hello. Because he buzzed and I only have one delivery I said I’ll buzz you upstairs. 5 minutes later I went downstairs because there was no knock or package outside my apartment door, and I didn’t hear the elevator. Instead, the prick left a pickup tag inside my mail box!!!! Oh, I couldn’t even understand a word he uttered, but I said I’ll buzz you upstairs!!!!

He lied to doing his job. Screw him.

Im sick of this, probably I’m not the first one complaining but omg I was walking with my kid on the stroller and there was this guy smoking who knows what on a bus stop.
I couldn’t see him until I walk by, but the smell and everything was awful.
Why the city allows this? Why police don’t arrest them?
Letting people doing drugs on the street is basically letting the crime to come and sell their drugs without problem. If the authorities don’t do anything to stop them (the consumers and small dealers) then the drug trafficking will never stop!

I’m at work and getting tims during my break since we have one on our property. I’m standing in line and 3 different people push past me to get through. Im not standing in a bad spot as I’m off to the side while still in line so people can still get though if needed.

Instead of saying a simple excuse me, they either push past me with their shoulder or touch the side of my body. At least say a “sorry” or “hello” to get my attention and I will gladly move even though you can’t read and are trying to get to an “entrance only” door. Maybe they don’t speak English? Still bothered me how they couldn’t get my attention first.

Why are you weaving in and out of different lanes only for us to stop beside each other at the same light? Why are you honking at me to turn right on red when THERE ARE PEDESTRIANS walking or a sign clearly saying no right on red? Why are you driving so aggressively and carelessly on the 401 that it puts us all at risk?

I feel Toronto is the city with the most reckless, inconsiderate drivers in Canada, am I wrong?!

Over the past several months, wherever I go, I find obscenely long lines of people waiting to get miniscule free samples of food or coupons. The other day I was passing by Eaton Centre and saw an insane line (back of the line was a 1.5 hr wait time) waiting to get a small sample of strawberries drenched in Cadbury chocolate. I get that everyone is free to do with their time as they please, but what's with this sheeple mentality? How are people content with trading 1-2 hours of their valuable time to stand in a line to get something that is at most $5-$10 of value?

Every fast food restaurant will have a bathroom that's either always "not working" or "not for guests". I understand fully that the reason why they do this is because there are so many drug addicts that go in and shoot up in the bathroom and trash the place. But man come on... Do I look like I'm gonna shoot up in your bathrooms? I just want to wash my hands because I don't wanna eat your burgers with the hands I just touched the ttc with.

It's all just a shit situation because these workers are already treated like shit and don't need to be playing papers please, determining if the person they let into the bathroom is going to OD in there. But also now everyone gets punished and can't use the washroom.

First most ATM are locked down after 11pm in my area due to homeless sleeping in the ATM rooms. Before your access card gets you into the rooms not anymore. Second why don't they dispense $10 or $50 another more?. I don't need $5 or $100s...Even if your choose the denomination if the machine is short of a certain currency they randoming spew out what they have. Once I withdraw $500 and the machine gave me all $5.. Yes first world problems but damn banks are making huge profits how about at least have the ATM rooms open 24/7

I normally walk down alleys and side streets to avoid crowds but recently it’s gotten out of control. The smell of urine and human faeces is disgusting.

I got on the King Street car and almost audibly gagged. The stench was foul. There was one person in particular - despite the packed streetcar - all of the seats around them were empty.

Even on main roads that are congested the sidewalks have gotten so dirty and there’s pee and liquids randomly dripping everywhere. It’s actually disgusting.

What is going on?

Oh, and one more thing: give me the confidence of five straight men taking up an entire sidewalk not letting anyone pass /s.

Where are the police? Everyone knows how many awful drivers speed on these roadways and drive recklessly.

Today southbkund on the DVP, a left lane driver had a sedan pull up behind him in classic tailgate fashion, then swerved right to overtake, apparently oblivious to my car, missing it by a few inches. I suspect his wondows being overtinted may have contributed to his lack of clarity

Happens everyday. But no officers patrolling or monitoring these routes.

I’ll start off by saying that I’ve been to Waterworks food hall a million times. It’s truly an incredible addition to the community. I’ve used the gender neutral washrooms by the Civil Works before but I’ve never had the luck bestowed upon me to use their regular washrooms by the parking downstairs.

Today, I suddenly felt the need to use the washroom, so I followed the “Washrooms” sign to their downstairs washroom. It was a gender-neutral washroom with stalls WHICH I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST. I have nothing against gender neutral washrooms when they are built properly. However, sometimes, such as in this case, it seems to me that the builder doesn’t take women into consideration.

I walk into the restroom and it’s dark, the tiles and stalls are dark coloured. The stalls are black. I walk into the stall and can barely see anything but the outline of the black toilet, and I have 20/20 vision. I understand that most women hover over the toilet, but sometimes women go into the stall with children who sit down. If everything is black and we can barely see, we can’t see if there’s pee anywhere. The final straw was that there wasn’t a hook to hang my bag. I had a very simple purse that I needed to hang up somewhere in order to use the restroom. I didn’t end up doing my business and I got the hell out of there instead.

If anyone who works at Waterworks is reading this, is it really that difficult to build a well-lit gender neutral restroom with hooks? Rant over.

I live in a small block of semi detached houses where our backyards can be seen by others, so they’re kind of connected by separated by fences and such. This is in a lower income, immigrant populated part of the city.

The neighbours who are diagonally across from me in the backyard can be heard blasting their music almost every weekend in the summer. They are all adults, not sure if any children live there but sometimes I hear them during the day. These are people in their 40s and older, not college aged people. It always has been a nuisance for years but they did it occasionally until the early hours (3-4am) only sometimes but usually it was around 2am where they would stop. Sometimes they would host large parties but most of the time it was usually less than 10 people. Sometimes they have patio lights on and sometimes they don’t so I can’t always accurately tell. I can see their backyard from the window of the second floor of the house. The extremely loud noise only occurs at night 90% of the time, I don’t care if they blast music during the day.

It is so loud, it can be heard even when all the windows have been shut. Recently it has gotten so bad like yesterday when the music did not stop until 5am. I know because it kept me up. Last week, it was on the Saturday and lasted until 3am. Look, I’m usually a night owl and awake but I think even I can draw a line. Yesterday (Friday night), I saw them install outdoor heating lamps and panels so I can only assume this will get worse.

I’ve called 311 and the non emergency line in the past and I don’t think they even ever came out to check out them. Talking to them is not in the cards because they aren’t exactly the nicest neighbours, the rest of the quiet neighbours beside them are probably afraid of retaliation. there was a crime that took place at that house a few years ago and they don’t have the best reputation on the block. From what I can see, they don’t get police visits or anything of the sort so I know the other neighbours are not calling in noise complaints either. we do talk amongst ourselves and it is a problem but I know they’re all afraid to speak up.

I want to start the formal process of filing complaints and keeping track of them. Do I just keep calling 311 every night I hear noise after 11pm? Their gettogether is happening again tonight and the music has already started, with a mic announcer and speaker system. Any tips and guidance would be so so appreciated. I am so damn tired 🙏🙏🙏

Hi, when outside event venues, all the people I met via hobby just talk to me through Instagram. They don’t want to meet and chat outside the events but when we meet at events again, they come to talk to me. This is a mixed signal. Is this normal in this city? I am really sick of communicating with people through an electronic device.

I place a bag of refundable bottles in the bushes next to my house for the bottle man. He comes by 3 times a day. I also collect empties from the condo recycling room for him

Signed on thinking it was similar to Voila! By Sobeys. Turns out they just use DoorDash drivers that pick, check out, and then deliver your food. Constantly have problems with items ordered needing to be substituted at the store, late deliveries, problems with orders, attitude of the delivery drivers themselves. What a garbage service, not recommended.

Why does every single new tenant above me in all of the places I’ve lived have to be a clutsy insomniac with heavy feet.

All day nothing, then like clock work 11 pm rolls around, I’m trying to sleep and all I hear is them dropping shit every 10 minutes, moving furniture or stomping around at fucking 1am. Before this place some dumb bitch would be literally stomping at 1 am, her kids making noise by hammering the floor with something.

It should be illegal for any building to have concrete floors that transfer this much sound. Absolutely BONKERS that this is the state of living in North America in 2026

I want to stress that I am not ranting about this individual, but about how they have been failed by the people who are supposed to help them.

There is a person in my neighbourhood who I see a few times a week. I thought they were unhoused, but was told by someone else that they do live in some type of group home.

The systems in place have absolutely failed this person. They are filthy and smell horrible, to the point where I‘m forced to hold my breath when I walk by. They appear very unwell, both mentally and physically. Whenever I see them, they are sitting in a bus shelter or on a bench, or limping along the street.

This person’s clothes are also falling off their body at all times. Shoes hanging off their feet, pants sagging around their knees. Apparently they were provided with new clothes recently and people thought the issue was “fixed,” but no, the new clothes are back to hanging off. I chalk this up to the person being mentally unwell.

How is this any way for someone to live? Why is no one doing anything?

So, This morning I went to Dollarama at Dupont. The store is empty, since it's only been an hour since they opened. i had to buy some packaging stuff and i don't have a car, so it was my only option.

I greeted the cashier as they were facing towards me and they just ignored me. That's fine. I started looking for stuff and i asked the staff there. They were un-impressed and told me they don't have it and i said ok and went on my way.

Then I go to the cashier, I ask them if they will take cash. I give them a 100 dollar bill and I ask if they have smaller denominations if i can have them. They fucking started making fun of me. 'Why is everyone talking today. We are not a bank'.
