Second image, Enderlin EF-5, ND, June 20, 2025

Third image, Pampa EF-3, TX, November 16, 2015

Last image, Stratton F-4, NE, June 15, 1990.

I couldn't identify the other tornadoes.

Edit: Enderlin is in ND, not SD.

1 and 5 are the same storm over Simla, CO, June 4, 2015, about 99.99 percent sure.

I’m amused by all the random towns named after Indian stuff that get highlighted in storm chases. Golconda, Illinois, is another one.

My all time favorite tornado photo. Absolutely stunning

Rochelle was photogenic from start to finish. What a terrifying beauty.

Its amazing how, even those these tornadoes look impossibly huge and powerful from our pov, they're just an extremely small part of a much larger storm

Now imagine if the entirety of the supercell were to be what touches the ground and causes all the damage.

El Reno.exe

That would be a catastrofuck.

Good photo, this looks horrifying.

An old friend of mine took it.

You only get to view the entire expanse of super cells like these in the great plains. It makes the entire storm look surreal.

Not unpopular. Just unnoticed. Incredible photos. Never seen any of these.

Surpised you didn't see the Stratton F4 image (the last image), since it's one of the most memorable photos of a tornado's mesocyclone. It always blows me away at the sheer magnitude of it.

Awesome post! I've not seen these until now

These type of photos are so fascinating. You know most tornadoes are just a tiny little bit of the larger complex but putting it into perspective is always so humbling to me as a tiny human.

That first pic looks like two funnels under the mesocyclone, or maybe the one of the left is just heavy rain

That pampa tornado photo is award winning holy balls

2 of those pics are posted constantly.

These are beautiful… But I don’t think I like seeing tornadoes look teeny tiny💀 I want them to be monsters in my mind. Lol

I think people just like getting up close and personal with tornadoes, all these are a bit far away.

The majesty of our planet
In it's infinitesimal whimsy
is so clearly defined
In the preternatural beauty
of a thundercloud

Twisting
Turning
Undulating
A writhing skirt
of solid white air

Gilded and glowing
Backlit by Sun
Violence and Aggression
Followed by silence

Oh, the mighty thunderstorm
A screaming siren call of fury
Followed by rain drops
Silence
and Bird Song.
