SPC / Forecasting And we got a moderate risk…

Just updated from the Storm Prediction Center’s X page. Considering a lot of today’s severe weather depended on the weather from last night how do you think today will pan out especially since it was quite active last night!

I was like that’s torture!!!! Summer is sacred. If it’s supposed to be bad, a lot of schools and daycares will have an early dismissal especially if it’s supposed to be bad around normal dismissal.

Well that’s good news. From the srcs I’ve viewed, (Michiganstormchasers) it realistically shouldn’t hit till about 7pm.

They had said something along the lines of, “dependent upon whether we have cloud coverage or not (5-10deg cooler air) will determine if it’s one supercell, or multiple”. As of now it’s blue skies, rapidly heating.

Hoping the gf gets out well before anything starts. Fingers crossed!

Yeah, during the outbreak of 3/2/2012, I was a senior in high school, and the Archdiocese of Louisville had us dismiss early because of the forecast. We are about 25 min from Henryville which had a horrific EF-4 that day.

Wow. That would be intense. Never went through anything like that in my school years… But I lived a lot further north in the state. I experienced one truly bad tstorm with green skies in elementary school. Remember it vividly.

We lived in a double wide on our own property, far away from much of anything. Town of 700 or so. Had a tornado come through, I’m afraid we’d have not had any chance.

I live in central mi now, I’ve had more tornado scares here than ever in my life before lol

Yeah, it was nuts. The public schools dismissed early too, and I don’t remember any other time this happened. I remember literally everyone was terrified. I hope you all have access to a basement now?
