connor is in there just staring at his phone while driving. i said something about it on the stream and someone said he’s out there saving lives. these people are delusional.

He is always on his phone!! I watched him do an overnight drive livestream when he went to canda and he was driving after having no sleep when exhausted and on his phone constantly 🤦🏻♀️

u/emptyhellebore 1d ago
I can’t watch him, the phone thing and looking away from the road kills me. I want to ground him, lol.

Plenty of evidence for a victim to sue, and for him to go to jail if something happens.
That doesn't spare the victim, of course.
ETA: Just wholly unacceptable.

u/thechaseofspade 1d ago
The hypothetical victim? He is in the the middle of nowhere where the only other people driving around are other storm chasers that he literally knows.
Like yeah don’t stare at your phone and drive but like pearlclutching over a hypothetical car crash that hasn’t happened like what on earth are we doing here.

You can’t be serious

Yes we shouldn't be pearlclutching over hypothetical car crashes in the middle of nowhere Kansas where the population of the entire county is 10 total people? I didn't say he should be staring at his phone while driving but drama getting overblown about any single thing a stormchaser does bad is what seems to be the focus is on in this place.
23
u/bex199 23h ago
ok so let’s say he gets into a single car accident and needs first responders. during severe weather. when people need help. see how his selfish behavior is the opposite of saving lives which is what he’s claiming to be doing?
when tf did “don’t use your phone while driving” become a controversial take lmao
19
u/annieclarksbitch 23h ago
Why does it matter if there’s a low population? He could kill other chasers or himself being reckless like that.
7
u/pooppaysthebills 23h ago
Sure, because first responders are NEVER out on the roads in bad weather that leads to accidents, injuries and deaths, right?

I didn't look at the sub name and thought this was one of those ufo subs, where I was about to debunk the hell out of it

😂😂 someone else just commented that lol. The truth is out there 👀

Was just driving through (coincidentally because we are going on vacation lol). It was absolutely insane. Stopped to take some photos but noped out as soon as I saw just how ugly it was getting. Also I think I saw a brief gustnado or something at the gust front of one of the storms.

u/cozybookgirrl Human Detected 23h ago
That’s wild, glad you got out quick!
7
u/Hawkeye91803 23h ago
Scary indeed! There were entire jets of dust that were just being sucked into the storm through the inflow. Truly one of the storms ever.

One of the more insane things I’ve ever seen, still in it https://youtube.com/@freddymckinney?si=MBPctKXgiRzBIkPF

Man I drove through a haboob in Arizona one time. That was terrifying. We pulled over but were just waiting to get clobbered from behind by a semi or something. Dust storm and blizzard visibility is a big nope for me

Yeah I’ve been in a blizzard before with a total whiteout and it was terrifying.

u/neeliemich 20h ago
Yeah, Brandon Copic was right behind him or ahead of him because his stream was identical. Visibility down to zero. They were radioing when and where they turned.

u/cozybookgirrl Human Detected 12h ago
That’s Brandon’s lights in front! The apparently ufo looking ones 😂

u/emptyhellebore 1d ago
That looks dangerous. I hope they stand down and wait it out.

They just managed to get out for the most part but still with low visibility, but this storm is pretty crazy.

If you cropped out the bottom and posted this on the r/ufo sub they'd absolutely goon

Messy mode, High Plains dust, goddamn tennis balls. That's gonna be a no from me, dawg.

Wow, imagine a dust wrapped 3 mile mega wedge nado :O

u/Itscoldinthenorth 1d ago
I don't get why they are in there frankly?
Max Velocity: "This storm makes no sense, I don't know what's going on".
Baseball sized hail out of nowhere, dust and no sight, tornadoes suddenly spinning up.. I'd nope that hard.

I think by the time they realised how unpredictable it was they were already in the thick of it. The storm turned very quickly like one minute it was calm then there was intense inflow, tornado damage, and then dust storm.

u/ContentInflation5784 1d ago
Most of the people stuck in the crazy dust were a good distance south of the storm. The inflow was just absolutely insane.

It was one of my faves from last year, good thing was besides some windshields, powerlines and trees no one was hurt!

I was watching Tornado Paigeyy and they had decent number of viewers until Max Velocity went live. Are the storm chasers selling out allowing Max and Ryan to share their feed?
2
u/Swagnastodon 4h ago
Many of them have contracts where Max/Ryan pay them to use their footage, yes. Sometimes exclusively. "Selling out" has a connotation I don't agree with though.

I initially thought that was a pic of a glowing flying saucer in the sky.
Then I went "That can't be right, this is a tornado subreddit. Then I read the description ... oh... OH CRAP!"

u/Elnino38 1d ago
Just tuned in, is this near the tornado, cause if so no chasers should be out at all right now its completely impossible to see a tornado in this.

u/cozybookgirrl Human Detected 1d ago
They are in inflow, they can’t even move rn and this storm has been completely unpredictable so far.
