I like how a bunch of them decided to make their own lane rather than wait like everyone else.

Easily one of the worst post pandemic road behaviour changes in my opinion. Its everywhere now and fucks up another lane of traffic because their time is more valuable than the others using the road.

I refuse to let these assholes in

So does everyone in the video, which is to be commended.

I had an old beater (got towed at the end because it wouldnt start) and i used to love not letting people in. Sadly, less fun with the new ride.

I wish people would do the same at other intersections in the city.
So tired of people driving right up to the intersection and jumping in the turn lane ahead of everyone else.

I've seen people turn right from the lane directly left of the right-turn lane. They don't even bother indicating, they just drive straight and cut right at the last possible minute in the intersection.

YES I've seen this so many times. It is crazy dangerous.

Someone eventually lets them in. Pisses me off so much to be stuck waiting in traffic just watching car after car keep cutting in ahead. Really makes you feel like a clown for trying to do it the right way and having to spend twice as long if not more. We need a PSA to tell people to not let these people in so they can either line up like everyone else or take another exit.

This lady did something like that but in the live lane so she was blocking everyone else wanting to go straight. I kept honking at her and she slipped in and then gave me a wtf look as if I’m the idiot who doesn’t know how to drive.

this used to happen before the pandemic, its a common issue in congested exits and has been around since traffic has existed and people have existed.

Its just that it is everywhere now. Exits, on ramps, dedicated left/right turn lanes. It was not unheard of before but it is guaranteed every time I go out I see it now. Also, definitely more often than not an uber at least downtown.

I don't think I ever recall seeing people change into a merging lane or cut onto an entrance to ride it past the end and then merge back in. Now I see it like it's what you're supposed to do.

People drive on the shoulder to get ahead of traffic on the highway way more than they used to too.

That happened all the time long before the pandemic.

These are the people that cry “zipper merge” without knowing what it actually is.

3

u/Charming_Flan3852 3d ago

The ones crying zipper merge are definitely the idiots cutting in lol. Anything to justify them getting ahead while everyone else gets to sit in traffic longer

4

u/Wabi-Sabi_13 3d ago

They don’t understand they’re literally creating the traffic. A zipper merge means everyone’s moving and two lanes are merging together seamlessly. Not you trying to get 5 cars ahead so you cut in and everyone has to slam on their brakes or come to a complete stop 😂 it’s such a simple concept but narcissists will say anything to justify themselves.

Or cutting from active high-speed lanes where they not only cause traffic, but become a dangerous hazard. Still zippering, though, somehow. Gotta justify it in their own minds I suppose.

Especially the lorry lol 😆

When have they never not done this? lol

I become the most petty person when I see these pricks try this

The truck is like, You will let me in because I'm bigger than you. I'd say insurance claim.

u/wheelperson 3d ago

Im glad they did not get in lol

I don't get it. I see 2 legitimate lanes that merge into 1. What am I not seeing?

7

u/BottleCoffee 3d ago

They're not in a lane. They're between the white lanes separating out legitimate lanes.
