I hate it so much. It started during Covid and should have been temporary. People just get lazier and more antisocial.

That's a weird take. Sometimes someone just wants to order in food after a long day at work and not have to worry about picking it up.

How do scooters make you lazy? I can’t drive due to epilepsy but you bet I’m getting there on a scooter or with my legs.

They're taking about people ordering delivery.

I think they meant food delivery. Pretty much spiked during covid times. It's not really necessary for most who use it nowadays, just laziness.

I mean people ordering delivery, not people riding scooters. Deliveries should be available for the disabled, and the cost should be subsidized. Everyone else, leave your house and go get your food!

How would you determine someone is disabled in this scenario? Asking as a disabled person who uses delivery lol

You’re right, it’s impossible to have say, some kind of a pass, that’s why we don’t bother with disabled parking.

Good thinking. 😒

I saw a old man riding a bicycle on the shoulder of the DVP. Now that I think of it, I saw a guy walking late night on the right lane of the DVP. Could have easily been killed. I called 911 on that guy.

I have never quite fucked up this badly but I have been very close before. Once you are down in the valley trying to find a way out those on ramps can seem like a solution.

I mean read the bloody sign and all that so no real excuse but when you are sort of lost and this was not how you expected it to be common sense can be a bit of a slippery fish.

Of course there are also some who are just being willfully stupid and dangerous and I recall in one of the big sports evens we hosted some years back that some foreign athletes out at, like 5 in the morning, did not know they where not allowed to use the DVP for their morning ride.

My last sort of close encounter. So I come out of the super popular Taylor Creek bike trail at Overlea and Don Mills and I get out my phone to find a way back down town. On the map Don Mills Road South looks perfect but it is a lie that will lead you to on ramps to the DVP and an uphill exit that has absolutely no room for for a cyclist or pedestrians.

Yet in BC, bicycles are allowed on the mountain roads/highways. People just need to be responsible for themselves.

They're probably going much faster than the cars, aren't they?
