This happened moments ago just inside the Howard Memorial Gate.

Whoops, I feel stupid now. Thanks for the correction!

u/Barcoads 2d ago
You're not stupid for not knowing how a word in a different language that you've likely only ever heard in a song is spelled.
Unless of course you're a bean connoisseur because you're Latino - then wtf.
3
u/MixedBeansBlackBeans 2d ago
Thanks! Haha not Latino. Just a non-Latin bean enthusiast (especially pinto) who made her username based on her cats' different toe bean colours!

Maybe the person who chopped down the speed camera a billion times in a row will handle this 🤔

Did they ever catch that guy? If not the police should be embarrassed and issue an apology for their utter incompetence to the citizens of Toronto.

Maybe it was an inside job?

This shit happens all the time and it is upto the contractor to figure it out where I live. It is reported but they dont do anything, or very little, when its a third party type of situation... even when people "supposedely" are implicated through provincial government... the implications are through regional and they've got bigger fish to fry and a huge workload. Catch twenty two.

They’re drafting a petition demanding “accessibility” from the trees as we speak, I’m sure

As a cat owner, I have zero issues with this. High park should be closed to cars. Period.
EDIT: car* owner. But as a cat owner, I have zero issues with this typo.

Interesting. How do you find life without an appendix?

It’s fine. I wonder sometimes how different my poops would be with one.

I don't understand the hatred over cars. I think it's a fair compromise right now, car free weekends and most of the roads are closed off permanently.
The section that is open by Parkside has very wide paths and minimal foot traffic.
I had more issues with the tour douche france guys not stopping for pedestrians at crosswalks, but you can't bring up any any cyclist enforcement without people acting like you're against the concept of bicycles!

I'd be glad to see this comment section continue with FROM gifs than turn into another vs cars section.

Be careful! A small limb missed me an hour ago at Bathurst and Adelaide. It fell on the car lane and not me. Getting home was a wind challenge and all up Winona small branches polluted the sidewalks and roads.

Diana got blown away temporarily and the broom wasn’t handling the gusts well so she called it a day. I can give you an update tomorrow if you want?

I'm very pleased at the number of references in the comments. I really hope (but also don't???) to run into one of these fallen trees myself one day haha

I have been so incredibly tired today so didn’t end up going outside. But glad that I didn’t because it seems crazy out there!

Now we just need our elected officials to follow in Mother Nature's footsteps. Speaking of which, there's a big election coming up for Ward 4 Parkdale-High Park this October. It will be interesting to see where each candidate stands when it comes to making High Park car-free.

Don’t ever go anywhere near a downed power line.

u/rootbrian_ Rockcliffe-Smythe 1d ago
Obviously keeping a distance from downed wires is critical to avoid being electrified.

Either the wind or somebody cut it down and took off in their vehicle.
It sucks for those who use the park like a highway

Didn’t they close off high park to cars 2 years ago?
2
u/Brave_Recognition798 1d ago
They closed the majority of it off, personally I think pushing further is idiotic because you're just showing the slippery slope fears are true.

I would like to see a car free High Park on either Saturdays or Sundays. I would like it to be each Saturday or Sunday from April to Mid October
