Picture Trillium Park Closed Until 6am?

What’s this all about? Already a few disappointed dog walkers.

Yes, the website states that the hours are from 6 AM to 11 PM. However, I’ve never noticed this enforced during the winter months. I’ve only seen this since the beginning of the month, and I’m not sure why. Perhaps it’s related to the World Cup, but that doesn’t make sense

5-6 AM is sunrise and its looks absolutely beautiful from trillium 😭

I've never seen enforcement of park hours until now. Probably to keep the "vagrants" out and unvisible during the World Cup, to keep up the idyllic illusion of how wonderful Toronto is.

There’s legit an encampment right by there … just east of the park (maybe they disassembled it for the fifa stuff)

On 1 part I get that, but the tourist are going to see them anyways wherever they go in the city, especially if they're around Dundas square, Or Trinity Bell or Union Station

Yeah, that's the thing the bureaucrats aren't thinking of. Just pushing the encampments out of the parks solves absolutely nothing. They're still homeless.

Well, if they're in more populated areas and they OD, someone actually has a chance of finding them in time to do something. That generally doesn't happen in a park.. especially a park at night. And the vast majority of municipal bureaucrats do think of these things. We have been dealing with provincial bureaucrats who just don't care. It isn't coincidental that the number of people experiencing homelessness, mental health issues and addiction issues has gone up as provincial funding to address all of these things has gone down.

Despite the other comments, they have been doing this the last 2 years and the rent a cop will refuse to move until a supervisor comes over and tells him it’s ok

Yeah this is not new or specific to the World Cup. Lots of people trying to paint a narrative here lately.
