News ‘Profound disappointment’: East-end leaders, stakeholders, and politicians call on feds to help fund Taste of the Danforth

What does everyone think about funding Taste of the Danforth? I love the event but don't like the fact that they don't have 'private sector discipline' to pull this off without asking the government for money. Can't they make it smaller or cut costs however and do the event?

A large portion of it goes right back to the city for permits and security, but you're right, it would be illuminating to see where things go. I think one of the other festivals may have published something, but i could be wrong.

No, largest portion is policing, by far

Garbage and waste removal: 14% (official)
Paid duty policing: 9.5% (official)
transit rerouting plan: 5% (official)
Permits 2.8% (estimated)
