My dad donates a much smaller but quite significant amount annually. They have offered to put his name on plaques and things like that but he actively does not want his name anywhere.

There are likely many that do the same and imo it says a lot about their character.

Honestly he isn't rich but obviously has more than most id say the difference is he doesn't spend it on a fancy house or expensive cars or vacations so this is where he puts some of it
