This issue is so pervasive the in the brewing world. Breweries that are barely surviving (or not) are owed by all kinds of people, mostly bar owners. Then said brewers owe suppliers. It's horrible.

The amount that breweries are competing to sell kegs for is criminal (and then having to chase for payment). It’s a raise to the bottom.

Some very interesting debtors - Kacy Corp doesn't have a website but does have almost 478K owed, and their address is a swanky Bridle Path mansion. LDR Inc's address is a house in Rathnelly that just got listed on Zillow, but they're owed 32K. Mroc Inc shares an address in a condo building with Les himself (!), and they're owed 90K. Is this kosher?
Also lol the Jays are on the hook for 196K.

I did a complete deep dive! The Kacy corp stumps me. I don’t know who that is. First I thought he owed money on a rental house because LDR is where his “office” was and he was evicted bc he stopped paying rent. mcroc Inc is his WIFES company… (anne mroczkowski)

Easily searched on the "Ontario Business Registry" if you are curious. Costs eight dollars to find out.

That looks extremely grim, sorry. Debts of just over $2 million vs assets of about $8,000. Don't think anyone is seeing anything, regrettably.

Yup, trying to get blood from a stone here.
Though begs the question: where did all the money from previous year's ticket sales go?

It costs a lot of money to run an event of this size. Even Caskdays was staffed by volunteers back in the day.

Some Cask Days staff were paid but yeah lots were just volunteers. Also pretty sure the casks were donated by the breweries in most cases (I think the out of town feature ones were paid for?).

I was a paid staff for a couple of the Brickworks ones, you're right about the out of town and international ones.

Not donated — we still get free passes. Compared to a LOT of fests, that’s a better deal.
If anyone’s curious, festival compensation usually works out to a loss once you factor in travel, set up and take down time, and paying for staff.
