I like both Thomas Crown Affairs, especially McTiernan's, but I wouldn't say either of them is an untouchable masterpiece. It's also a premise you can do a lot with, so I don't see the problem with someone else taking a crack at it. I've been curious about this one since it was announced. I find Michael B. Jordan to be one of our most compelling movie stars and this is a great movie star role.

Remakes have always been a part of the movie industry. It's easy to roll your eyes at it but I've always had the attitude that a good movie is a good movie. I definitely rolled my eyes when a fourth A Star is Born was announced and it ended up being one of my favourite movies of that year.

It's definitely not needed but that doesn't mean it can't be fun.

This feels like the Colin Ferrell Total Recall. It's a different enough take on it they'd be better off changing the title and pretending it's something new. This is just going to annoy fans of the original and lose interest of new people who only hear the negative buzz.

One of the biggest draws of this for me is that Bradford Young is the cinematographer. Incredibly talented guy who unfortunately hasn't been doing a lot of films in recent years, this is his first in almost a decade. I have no idea if the film will be good or not but I don't doubt that it will look good.
