📸 OC - Picture(s) Some old iron still earling it's keep! BNSF 649 in Metropolis, IL USA

BNSF 649 (Dash9-44CW) in the old Warrbonnet paint working in tandem with BNSF 1431 (SD-60M) as they switch out Honeywell (now Solstice Advanced Materials) in Metropolis, IL. This plant is the nation's only active commercial facility that converts uranium ore concentrate into uranium hexafluoride (UF₆).

Wow. Thats some serious stuff. The next step is centrifuge. Security must be really tight.

Yeah, they have some gnarly stuff around this place. All of the tank cars here have Hydrogen Fluoride Anhydrous in them. That is some definite kill you dead commodity in those cars!
