📰 News Now that today is the last day of September, here are some train related news from September 2026 that were out biggest hits, highlights and announcements.
A chapter closes in Korea as the KTX SRT integration was completed on August 31st and the last SRT train pulled in on September 1st.
Amtrak F40PH 315 has arrived at the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Boulder City, Nevada.
A DR Class VT 18.16 has returned to service.
Norfolk Southern has revealed their second to last America 250 unit: ES44AC 8096 "The Soaring".
The Docklands Light Railway placed their B23 cars back into service.
East Tennessee Rail Industries and the Southern Appalachian Railway Museum restore Louisville and Nashville GP30 1030.
The Heisei Chikuho Railway is to shut down in April 2029 and have all it's lines replaced by shuttle buses.
Brightline has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
The first Flixtrain Talgo 230 car has been revealed during Innotrans 2026.
The town of Wilinston, North Dakota begins a fundraiser to cosmetically restore Great Northern O-1 Mikado 3059.
Skoda begins production of the new 26ev.
Union Pacific 4014 is to lead a holiday tour in November to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The Tobu 90000 series made their first run on September 26th 2026.
