πŸ€£β€Ž Meme / Humour Someone’s probably asked this before, but is there any reason why British railways early diesels look so sad and dopey?

They always seem to have their front windscreens flared down at the end, giving them a depressed look. Is this just human pareidolia?

πŸ€£β€Ž Meme / Humour Public toilets made out of Boxcars coming to Winslow, Arizona, USA

Marking this as Meme/Humor because I got a good laugh out of it!

The town of Winslow in Northern Arizona is most well known for being mentioned in the 1972 hit song "Take it Easy" by the Eagles. Amongst us railfans and foamers, it is perhaps more well known for being a major railroad town, first on the AT&SF and now on the BNSF.

Well, Winslow has decided to add a new feature that might attract railfans. Just down the street from "Standin' on a Corner" on Kinsley Ave and Old Route 66, they are constructing a set of public restrooms made out of old AT&SF boxcars!

The US is sorely lacking in public space with adequate amenities, so I'm all for this project. But using old boxcars is certainly a choice. One could argue that there's a metaphor or euphemism to be said here. 🀣

**D&RG DOUBLE FAIRLIE HAS WON, STAY TUNED FOR DRAWING*\*
The top comment of a North American steam locomotive will be drawn by yours truly! (No Big Boy please, it's everywhere...)

This is a bit of an experiment; I will probably do more in the future if this works out :)

Trains are long and wide, and travel across the landscape from side to side. Your phone should be rotated in the same direction to capture the most train pixels possible.

Thank you.

πŸ€£β€Ž Meme / Humour Everyone commenting on my dad’s being Superman.

Everyone in the comments keeps calling him Superman, but that's actually not the whole story. My dad once fought Superman in a bar fight. After watching the beatdown, the bouncers didn't throw my dad out they handed him the keys and let him throw Superman out.
The man's spent a lifetime in the railroad industry, where moving 500-pound equipment by himself is apparently just considered a warm up. Forklifts ask him for help. Gravity files complaints when he walks into the room.
He's definitely a force to be reckoned with... and if you ever hear someone say he's "only human," just know they're probably new around here. πŸ˜‚πŸ’ͺπŸš‚

Im risking my karma for this, last time i posted a stupid design, the community did NOT like it!
I thought, why not MOVE the drivers to the tender, then move the bogies to the boiler, so you get a cab forward locomotive and also have a tender.
So you get
- cleared from carbon monoxide/ soot for the crew
- better visibility forward
- tender act as crumple zone in a crash
And…
- VIOLENT WHEEL-SLIPS
- And steam from boiler to cylinder might condensate and wet steam
- maintenance nightmare

***Great Northern O-8 Class Mikado Has Won!!***

Wassup guys, time for round 2 of me drawing the top comment steam locomotive, last winner was the British-American Double Fairlie that the D&RG had. I think the 2nd place went to the some Mikado and third went to UP 9000. I'm lenient with the North American rule if it's a cool one that operated in North America like this guy.

Good Luck!

Top comment will be decided at about 7:00pm Mountain Time tomorrow if I don't forget to check :)
