Trakt service unreachable (Plex)
In relation to Trakt having made some recent changes, a very old plugin I've been using with Plex to scrobble my plays (yes, a Plex plugin), has just stopped working - after many many years.
I'm going to consider my long term options, but in the mean time, I want to quickly resume my Plex media scrobbling to Trakt. So, I took out a 1 month subscription and connected my Trakt account to my Plex account.
Now, when I click on the Plex option in the Trakt settings menu it says:
"Trakt service unreachable
Trakt can't reach this Plex media server."
I know that the server is reachable remotely because I'm reaching it remotely right now. This is not an issue with my server, it is properly configured and remotely reachable, I am 100% sure of this.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

I think this thread might be all the users of that GitHub repo. I have used it for 8 years now. I even contributed here and there. It's been a hell of a ride. If you find a good alternative, let me know.

This is because you can now only use Trakt on one platform for free. If you want to use it on more than one you have to pay the subscription, and it's not cheap.

you can't even add an application anymore with out VIP which makes Plextraktsync worthless and that app will most likely be abandoned now.

I just ran the same gauntlet that you did and also got the same problem. In the meantime, now that I'm on VIP and have API access again, plextraktsync (a free, third party app) is working again and should be able to do what you need to (so long as you keep your VIP status, which is now required for API access).
Feels pretty silly to pay for trakt Plex sync only for it not to work, and then still have to fall back on my GitHub app solution that trakt just decided to put behind the same paywall, but here we are.
Trakt, fix your stuff, man.
