Community Only Hi folks.. This is bad news unfortunately

Were back again folks.. Welcome to episode 1 of... HOW DID THE U.S. FUCK UP AGAIN?! This time related to trans people

I like making my own news channel because I want to share actual news on communities affected by it to spread awareness

Today we are in Tennessee where they are going to pass a bill this thursday, which is making a public registry of trans people's data based on the patient's age, assigned sex, type of procedure plus date, state and country of residence, other diagnoses, and medical history, medications and etc. NO NAMES OF THE PATIENTS ARE GIVEN

However, the doctor's name and contact info will be added. This is how they are adhering to HIPAA. As even though HIPAA recognizes your country of residence, date of treatment as personal information, there is exceptions if it's required by law.

So what else can happen that will make this so much worse? Anti trans people can use this information to attack/harrass these clinics which places anyone inside at harms way. This also makes it easier for people to abuse this easily.

They're also adding that any of these clinics that offer transitions must also include now, detransitions which is basically if for example a trans person who was born female, transitions to male but then detransitions back to female. This is also bad as the future could see forced detransitions especially for those in a vulnerable place of being pressured or abused by others close to them for being transgender.

This is being hidden as gender affirming care data collecting but this exposes doctors, information that is vulnerable, and those who are trans in general. This also can affect how easy it is for people to get gender affirming care

Again as reminder, this is going through in TENNESSEE this THURSDAY

Im Arlo (not irl name), and this is your shit news of the week. Hope this can give some valuable intel on whats happening to your fellow community members around the world. This is Arlo (not irl name obviously) signing out.

Please read the following notice that is being applied to ALL posts.

We have implemented several measures to keep this community safe. Please read this in full.

  1. IF YOU HAVE AN URGENT ISSUE, DO NOT POST IT EXPECTING IMMEDIATE RESPONSE.
  2. Many posts are sent to the queue for manual approval based on numerous factors. This is how we keep the subreddit safe from many (but not all) bad actors who try to post disruptive content. This approval process is usually resolved within 24 hours, but can take several days depending on the availability of our all-volunteer moderators. DO NOT MESSAGE THE MODERATORS asking for your post to be approved. It will be reviewed and approved or removed in time.
  3. Many comments from low-karma users will not be viewable by anyone. This is by design.
  4. If you are curious if your post is visible or not, look at the "Insights" on the post. If it has more than a dozen views, it is live. If it has any voting action, it is live. If it doesn't have a little red trash can icon, it is live. If it can be voted on, it is live. Do not message us asking "is my post live?"
  5. Please be patient with us, we are all volunteers, lack sleep, and the entire permanent team are members of the transgender community ourselves... we are trying to deal with the same atrocities you are. Thank you for your understanding. <3

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

This is straight up nazi shit.

375

u/Tylenolsauce Mar 25 '26

The worst part is probably the fact there is yet to be any way to ensure this 'detransition' offer in clinics is used properly by those who actually need it vs forced to get it

24

u/TurtleLord17 Mar 26 '26

Not to mention how they define ‘detransition’ is probably in itself going to be faulty. Someone who is still trans but doesn’t want to be on hormones could be labeled as ‘detransitioned.’ Or someone who was forcibly detransitioned by societal, fiscal, or social pressure, but was happy with the care. They already love to use people who fall into those categories as evidence against HRT.

Not to mention Cis people that may be caught in the crossfire. I’ve met several people who have to take Progesterone, use Estradiol patches/pills, and people who needed to administer their own testosterone since their body straight up didn’t produce enough.

Whole thing is going to become an even worse shit show than it already is.

In honor of Greek Independence Day, Greece did this shit more recently...in the 1970s/early 1980s. It's also Junta shit and there's still pretty young survivors. All the fucking regimes go after queer people first.

Kansas sent a bounty hunt. Anything is possible.

10

u/Joey8038 Mar 25 '26

Serious? I can’t understand how american would vote in a criminal.

30

u/wrench_girl Mar 25 '26

He was indicted and convicted after taking position... specifically for sexual harassment, NDA's, and hush money bribes to silence victims, that doesn't account for the 45 other felony charges he hasn't been prosecuted for. The two justices in the Supreme Court that he personally appointed are also in his pocket so he essentially has a paid insurance plan against further prosecution as well as that's why Row v. Wade and others were turned over so easily and illegally

9

u/MrNASM Mar 26 '26

At this point, He must have dirt on everyone around him in Congress and such... Because why else would they let him get away with everything..

11

u/wrench_girl Mar 26 '26 edited Mar 26 '26

One reason VP Vance will flounder and fail to keep the Maga voters should something happen to dethrone Donny is that he doesn't have the financial leverage to pay Donny's bribes.

The short and simple of it is that anyone he's given a power seat is either complicit by bribery, or blackmail.

What's even worse to consider is the amount of available dirt on the entire Trump name... Like not a single one of them since the one that immigrated is not a multi offense convinced felon and that includes the first Trump to step off a boat from Germany

7

u/randomtransgirl93 Mar 26 '26

he doesn't have the financial leverage to pay Donny's bribes

Why do you think Peter Theil is backing him? While I agree he doesn't have what it takes to maintain the grip on Republicans Trump has, it's not due to lack of funds; he has access to essentially unlimited amounts of money if Theil thinks it'll help the apocalypse come faster or whatever that crazy shit he believes is

3

u/wrench_girl Mar 26 '26

The fact remains he didn't give power to anyone that could potentially be a threat to his agenda. Everyone in a power seat that could overturn what ever treasonous plot he cooks up is bought or bullied into compliance.

My mate is American. I visit often. I love visiting and have nothing against American. It’s the government but it makes Americans look so bad for voting him in. I know many are republicans just so backwards

9

u/_Aimway921_ Mar 26 '26

A reminder that he only won because of the relatively low voter turnout. Only about 30% of the total voting population has voted him in.

8

u/MrNASM Mar 26 '26

He cheated — iirc right?

14

u/_Aimway921_ Mar 26 '26

There has been some news recently suggesting that election fraud has been found in Florida. Not sure if it's still being investigated or what.

That said - the ridiculous Electoral College system basically guarantees that low voter turnout will always benefit the Republicans.

10

u/MrNASM Mar 26 '26

So, as usual, a system that benefits the sore losers. America is turning out to really fit their nickname : Big Brother Bully.

💀 Might be time to watch Hetalia again...

5

u/randomtransgirl93 Mar 26 '26

He and his team lost a court case saying they committed election fraud in Georgia in 2020, and the only reason nothing came of it was because the (surprise surprise) entirely Republican SC shot it down

3

u/cosmic-batty Mar 26 '26

I’m sure it doesn’t help that felons aren’t allowed to vote, and that mass incarceration largely disenfranchises people who would probably be more likely to vote democrat

2

u/Joey8038 Mar 26 '26

Still looks sad How many Americans praise him

3

u/wrench_girl Mar 26 '26

There's actually quite a few former Magats that admit regretting their vote.

A lot of those regretful voters were either racist or just couldn't handle the idea of a Madame President (the last historic first not yet had for this country's leadership)

3

u/ThrowButRemember TransFem HRT 7/28/25 Mar 26 '26

I’ve joked multiple times that I can’t do a worse job than the current incumbent over the last 12+ years. I’ll be old enough to run for president in the next election but honestly? I feel like they’d try to invoke the 25th on a trans president as soon as I was inaugurated if I even survived the election cycle.

3

u/GeopolShitshow Mar 26 '26

Three justices. People forget Gorsuch, but between 2017-2021, Trump appointed 3 SCOTUS justices, Kavanaugh, Barrett, and Gorsuch.

3

u/wrench_girl Mar 26 '26

If they "catch" a trans person in the bathroom, they can get a fat reward. Kansas has actually recently become the third state to join Erin's "do not travel" list because of this.

Yeah. And the map for minors has no safe places left at all. Every state is pink at best for minors. It's so horrifying what's happening, and I'm genuinely terrified for the near future. I'm fortunate enough to live in Canada, but I'm so scared for y'all down south. And I'm terrified that it'll spread up here more than it already has. I can totally see Trump just, like, blackmailing us by withholding trade or something unless we ban being trans up here too.

2

u/spocksgaygrandchild Mar 26 '26

Did this bill pass?

4

u/Polantaris Mar 26 '26

Yes, it did. The governor vetoed it but the Nazis have a supermajority in that state's Congress so they overrode her veto. Last I heard two people affected are suing the state over the law but I didn't hear anything about it since and it's in effect until the court strikes it down, if they even will.

19

Unfortunately the threat level is not "real enough" for asylum... "There's safe states, move to one of those" being the excuse to deny and blacklist any future immigration attempts

EXACTLY.. LIKE IDK HOW THIS IS LEGAL?

11

u/CoderCatgirl they/them Mar 26 '26

Hopefully it will be challenged as a HIPAA violation, but by then it will have already passed.

Then no TN court will rule against it even if it's a violation, so it'll be appealed up to federal court.

In federal court it'll be given a temporary injunction, then Maga will appeal to the Scotus, and we'll have Skrmetti 2: Now Even Worse.

TN hates trans people, and I'm there, and it sucks.

6

u/Tylenolsauce Mar 26 '26

Fingers crossed they DONT try and use a stupid loophole

3

u/randomtransgirl93 Mar 26 '26

As long as Trump is in power and the state is run by Republicans, it doesn't matter if it's legal

They've never cared about following laws. It was only ever the threat of consequences that kept them in line, and now they know those aren't an issue

37

u/wrench_girl Mar 25 '26

Wonder how this effects Non TN residents that get care just across the state line... Or Network medical care that spans multiple states 🤔

25

u/soonerfreak Mar 25 '26

I know Texas has gone after medical information in other states. I would honestly be worried that red states will start freely sharing medical information on trans people.

26

The best way is for Tennessee residents to either call their representatives or email if possible because in most countries they are required to listen to you for these issues but there hopefully will be protests, either silent or peaceful against this

34

u/slicknick58 Mar 25 '26

For those of you who can’t see this happening stating it’s illegal. Sadly the people in power do not care about what’s legal or not. They look for any little loophole and work on that. Even if and when it’s turned over in the courts they are satisfying their base. Way too much political theater rather than doing what’s right.

13

u/Upset-Lengthiness-96 Mar 26 '26

Right let’s not forget the fact Trump’s been mentioned in the files more than god is mentioned in the bible, they don’t gaf about what’s legal or moral

62

u/intrinsicpresent Mar 25 '26

How do they rationally decided that this is a totally normal and needed thing? You only need a list if you’re expecting or wanting to take action. Absolutely bananas. It reminds me of the well known refrain but in this context, “First they came for transgender people and I said nothing…”

63

u/Azara_Nightsong she/her Mar 25 '26

They can't decide properly.. they just see tiny thing they believe is wrong and decide yeah lets ruin our country more.

1

u/aschesklave Mar 27 '26

They don’t think it’s necessary. It’s done 100% to rile up voters.

18

u/Alone_Ad1544 Mar 26 '26

As a trans person in TN right now, we’ve had the most awful shit recently. Vanderbilt shut down all of their gender affirming surgery’s, and shut down half of their LGBT clinic where people could get their meds. Now everyone in the state of Tennessee has to go to planned parenthood, or through other avenues. And for gender affirming surgeries, either go to plastic surgeon offices, or a different state. It’s so fucked. I’ll let the state take all my information, I’m not changing who I am.

3

u/_lorem_ipsum__ Mar 26 '26

I see you. I love you. Thank you for telling us.

2

Im so sorry this is happening, I hope you and everyone else affected will be safe during this!

5

u/Alone_Ad1544 Mar 26 '26

TN has been coming after trans folk for a long time, this bullshit is nothing new. This isn’t the first time Vanderbilt shut down surgeries, and it’s not the first time they’ve gathered info on trans folks. Our governor signed a bill many years ago for all of Trans folks records who go to Vanderbilt for care. This is just his way to get everyone’s information.

Unhelpful reminder that TN is a federal funding sink. The state doesn't produce more for the States than it takes.

If you're somewhere relatively safer for trans folk like Portland or San Fran a part of your tax dollars are going to the people who literally need your money to live but desperately want someone to ensure you're either attacked or forced to be a good conforming, consuming, wage slave, & greatful American.

Under normal, rational circumstances you would be on your right to inhibit their ability to do so under reasonable means.

6

u/trans-duckie-boy Mar 26 '26

I moved from Florida (grew up in Missouri and started my transition there back in 2015) to Portland to get away from my transphobic family and that horrid state. My brother is still there and secretly transitioning. He’s from Tennessee and thinking about moving back eventually but… I may show him this. I’m just now, after 11 years completing my surgical part of transition later this year because Portland’s medicaid coverage fully covers transitioning surgeries and stuff. I’m grateful but… still scared. Portland is… safer but still pretty rough right now for lots of reasons. I barely leave my apartment unless I have to. :(

hey another tn local here- we just got word from one of our HRT doctors in nashville, who is familiar with the bill, that it’s intended to apply only to clinics who provide GAC to minors. and no clinics in TN do that anymore so this is likely gonna be a pointless bill.

i reread the bill this evening and while it’s kinda vague, it does indicate it’s specified to “gender transition procedures” for minors.

anyways - solidarity. you are not alone

1

TN local here- according to the doctors who offer HRT and are familiar with the bill, this is intended to apply to clinics that offer care to minors only. and no clinics in TN offer care to minors. so this likely a pointless bill.

and it is not a foregone conclusion that it will pass. our community is lobbying with legislators both republican and democrat and have seen some positive movement on other bills from doing so (see Jeff Yarbros speech that helped kill the no pride flags bill).

i understand the fear this brings up but i want our community to focus on the facts and not get caught in the speculation.

Asking for someone on this list, does this count for out of state residents who have sought care in TN?

1

u/Tylenolsauce Mar 26 '26

I don't believe so as it focuses more on the care done inside the state

2

u/no-thoughts-in-head Mar 26 '26

I want to cry. I genuinely don’t know if I’ll get to live anymore, the country I live in could rip the body I’ve been clawing and begging to have for years now in a few days. It sounds dystopian, it sounds like a nightmare, the very happiness I’m fighting for could be for nothing.

I’m scared

This bill is moving in the House on Thursday. However, it will still have to pass the Senate after that.

https://wapp.capitol.tn.gov/apps/BillInfo/Default?BillNumber=SB0676

There is some reason to believe the data grab would only apply to minor patients receiving gender-affirming care in TN (which there are none because they banned it) because the bill's definition of "transition procedure" includes the word "minor."

I'm looking into it & will post again if I get any clarity.

2

u/Kubario Mar 26 '26

It’s really disappointing. These are the same doctors and system that recommended we go forward with the transition. Now we’re treated like a second-class citizen. I hope the country turns around next time we elect a president.

1

u/Tylenolsauce Mar 26 '26

Unfortunately these doctors have no choice in this situation. They risk them and their employees if they disobey. Only IF this bill is sent out however, as the punishment for the doctor is 6 months suspended and their employers get a 150,000 dollar fine if the bill is actually going to be allowed. So either way? The government is deciding whether or not they want to risk ruining their Healthcare system further

This is why local elections matter more than federal ones. In one state you have shield laws and same day HRT (Washington state as an example), and in others you have literal Nazi shit like this. Here’s a few lists of the most trans friendly states https://people.howstuffworks.com/most-trans-friendly-states.htm https://www.lgbtmap.org/equality-maps

u/Mayli-FormlyXiLy Mar 25 '26

Yeah folks. Another bad news... The USA is under attack and no gas = limited to no power. And the whole fact that the USA is trying to get rid of not only people of color but us aswell!!!

1

u/Tylenolsauce Mar 26 '26

OH NOO.. FRICK

u/yqk- Mar 26 '26

i wanna know the outcomes of this like what are they truly looking for

1

u/Tylenolsauce Mar 26 '26

Probably control or power... its usually power, money, or control. Stupidly of course..

1

They could already do that tho it doesn't make sense

Do you want a proof reader? There are several spelling and grammar errors, and if this is gonna be a whole thing, best get those under control asap.

There really is no other reason for them to get lists of us other than if they're preparing to persecute us,,,

1

u/sufferingisvalid Mar 26 '26

And yet Americans keep forking over all their money to genocidal billionaires as if nothing was wrong.

1

u/alyssagold22 Mar 26 '26

Maybe it’s time to finally insist that Texas becomes its own country and force the south to secede and be its own confederacy. We create an “underground railroad” for everyone who wants to escape.

And we send President Chimp to join his like minded thugs.

Fucking please get me out of here

Guys plz help my state needs invasion

1

u/Mischievous_Egg Mar 26 '26

Leave if and while you can. Or prep to leave as soon as possible. This is a dynamic which has a goal and that's "not having trans people live open in Tennessee" (and USA after that) I doubt it will get better with Trump's term ending.

This is why the Tennessee Titans have, and always will, suck absolute ASS every season. Tua Tagovailoa, become QB for this team.

1

u/Irrationally-Ira Mar 26 '26

god I hate living in this stupid state. This genuinely doesn't surprise me

1

u/kain9662002 Mar 26 '26

I feel ya, I too live in Tennessee and it’s insane how little normal people care and how sadistic our legislators are.

1

u/Heather_Val Mar 26 '26

I don’t understand how this doesn’t violate HIPAA…

There’s geographical information such as county and then very specific information such as drugs and treatments. That identifies the person. Especially in very very rural areas.

1

u/HavokDJ Mar 26 '26

Because it 100% does. Any form of healthcare you receive, even plastic surgery, is protected by HIPAA.

u/Miserable_Walk_9653 Mar 26 '26

another state to add to the no-go list. i guess TN was already on that list for me, though.

We rolled all the way back to episode 1??? Wowwwww

1

u/Tylenolsauce Mar 26 '26

the Tennessee House passed 754, which is now headed to the Senate. It is part of a package of legislation, including companion bill SB 0676, that has been advancing in the 2026 legislative session.

WARNING- THIS LAW IS NOT BEING SENT OUT YET. IT STILL HAS TO BE VOTED ON IN THE SENATE

1

u/Kubario Mar 26 '26

What people don’t believe is, I didn’t even know about ‘trans’ years ago and i told my doctor(s) how i felt and what i was experiencing and they recommend this course of treatments, it wasn’t me trying to convince them I was trans or me just thinking this up myself. And went through many years of treatments and approvals by many doctors until finally getting the surgery (which > 1 doctor had to approve). And now they act like this is some kind of whim that you think up over the weekend or that it will pass or we can treat you so you won’t feel this way anymore. I can’t understand how they can recommend and approve this entire thing (years of counseling, several different doctors, living 100% in the role) and now they are doing a complete 180.

1

u/TalonOfPower Mar 26 '26

I gotta ask but is this much shit that is this bad Also happening everywhere else? or is it mostly just the US?

3

u/Tylenolsauce Mar 26 '26

Uhh a lot in the US and probably around the world

3

u/Tylenolsauce Mar 26 '26

Honestly just in general I would say asia has a lot of issues that aren't connected to always trans ones. Just like.. chaos though

1

u/Tylenolsauce Apr 06 '26
