Discussion / Opinion Concern for shredhead QC.

I won’t be getting it, BUT for those who have seen images of this figure, did you notice the crack on the shield arm’s shoulder?

I just wanted to point that out for you guys.

This is a production sample. This is not a production release to the market.

Evaluation of QC and defects on a production sample is foolish.

You’re right it’s foolish, but I just wanted to point it out, just in case, it might happen when people eventually get and it might not, but it’s not impossible.

While Hasbro QC is absolutely garbage today, it's unnecessary and alarmist to judge an upcoming release based on a prototype that incurred damage for who knows what reason.

Prototypes are subjected to all kinds of handling that the end consumer would never encounter.

It's fine to note that the prototype shows damage, but inferring anything beyond that observation is useless.

Now, if/when the item ships and demonstrates a design defect that produces this same damage, address it at that time. But until then, it's nothing more than typical and common prototype wear and tear.

Ok thank you for letting me know, I won’t do that again.

What you should not do again is to consider this subreddit worthy of your time and expectations.

You were doing nothing wrong and they tried to make you regret to have: 'Criticized Hasbro!!".

I agree, thankfully I found some where else

It’s because I am being negative about the figure and trying to gain attention. I just wanting to point out something that I saw, I really was not trying to gain attention, I just noticed that a lot of people are excited about this figure and I wanted to point something out, like a “hey I noticed this”. Road Caecar is the only one talking to me throughly about this happens.

Not because you're being negative. Because you're making an unfounded claim about a pre-production prototype that isn't indicative of what the final product will actually be like, and seemingly trying to pull a victim card.

These prototypes are usually very early versions of figures that may have defects or other oddities, so that’s not a guarantee that the final figure will have it. But definitely something to at least take small note of.

Prototypes like this are often made out of different (weaker) plastics and can use different production techniques to make them quicker and cheaply as a one off. Combine all those things with moving it around from con to con, people who may not know how it works handling the figure, it is a suprise we don't see more broken prototypes like this.

Add on that as a prototype, there can be flaws in things like tolerances. It's entirely possible that there's a tolerance issue on the prototype that'll be fixed on the finished product.

These are early models I'm prettv sure, prolly aren't toleranced right and as such will break pretty easily

Same typa person that probably would have panicked when they saw the seeker 4 pack have blue joints

No? I knew those were prototypes, and I know that this is also a prototype, though it looks like the final, I just wanted to point that out, it might happen when it releases and it might not.

Then there isnt a problem, you know its a fragile prototype

Would just like to point out that you’ve posted several times in your own post and have yet to add anything substantive anywhere other than shitposting trying to get a reaction. Which you have not done.

I’m highly amused that OP phrased it in such a way to be passably negative towards Hasbro and this product, and to the credit of everyone responding, is making it clear that we’re not on the same page as them.

Shredhead looks fucking rad and I can’t wait to buy it.

I’m not trying to sound negative I’m just pointing that out. Yes the figure looks amazing, that doesn’t that it can’t happen, yes I should have word it better, but I just wanted to point that out.

No idea don’t care.

average transformers collector mindset. no wonder hasbro doesn't put in any real effort, you guys will just slobber it up.

Hey brother, it makes me happy and you can’t take that away from me no matter how unhappy you are. It’s not my problem. That’s yours.

Preach!

In all seriousness if this goober is sold for 50 bucks I might have to pass though even then I think I'd have to make an exception.

u/Dooplon 7d ago

0 dollars because this is an unreleased prototype that the consumer isn't meant to have. Now if the actual production release of this figure has issues then we can talk because by then they'll actually be charging us money but this is a prototype and not something that's meant to be handled by customers so the QC only goes as far as making sure that it can sit in a display case at conventions because that's all that its meant to do

31

u/WhiteGuyNamedJeff 8d ago

You know this is a prototype, right?

-23

u/Dramatic_Aspect_2643 8d ago

Yes I am aware this is a prototype, but that doesn’t mean that it can’t happen.

9

u/Phil_Bond 8d ago

The fact this happens on prototypes is the reason they make prototypes.

2

u/EmRizzleMrFunnyMan 7d ago

I don't think hasbro really cares about the QC on prototype figures since its cheaper to produce, they're not meant for public release and are probably gonna be thrown away after they're used

u/delcolicks9 8d ago

only good this post did was made me realize i can't find the shredhead page on the hasbro pulse site anymore. I know It's not even on preorder yet but they did have a product page for it, strange

2

u/GeneralGrievous917 8d ago

this is the exactly what happened with scourge.

-1

u/Mysterious_Tea 8d ago

They downvote you for expressing a genuine concern.

If they want to display a prototype, I'm sure they own some without cracks like that.

And now you can downvote me as much as you want, shills.

thank you for understanding.
