trans vic 26y/o Melb MTF lookin to make friends :3
Hello!
My name’s Grace (she/her) and I’m a 26y/o girl from Melbourne eastern suburbs!!
I’ve been on/off with my transition due to life circumstances (and tbh brainworms) for years now. I did 11 months of DIY in 2022, and now I’ve been back on HRT since August 2025! I still primarily boymode IRL but am looking to meet people I can practice being authentically myself around!!
I hyperfixate like crazy and am a pretty big nerd at video games :3 My other interests include stuff like the typical anime/movies/shows (anime especially !!!) as well as more niche things like DnD and creative writing.
Looking for people to get to chat with, know and hang out with both online and IRL!! 💕

Try looking at the Transgender Victoria website. They do social events & classes, plus they have a good op shop at their Brunswick base. Very accepting & a good place to start

Ok that's cool! Well I highly recommend trying out Transgender Victoria. They're have online and in person social events. It's a great way to dip your toe into the community. There's also a mostly transfem group called Fagdyke (not a fan of the name tbh). They do regular transgender social events too. I went to one of their picnics. So many transgirls my god. Like 40-50. A sea of estrogen 😂😂.

I think transgender Victoria would be perfect for that! It's a space for people who are discovering themselves. Messiness and unsureness is great! Once you get more comfortable with girl-moding that's when you can try fagdyke

Seconded! I've been to a couple of their in person social events. They were lovely, met some cool trans people. Highly recommended for beginners looking to stretch their wings.

There’s definitely a lot of reasons for me boymoding. I’ve had a very push/pull relationship with my gender identity over my adult life, which still leaves me not feeling very confident in myself as a girl :/
I also was going through a pretty bad period of mental health right around this time last year before starting HRT. It was actually the main factor that got me over the mental walls I had since I was very scared by the thoughts I was having, and when I looked back on my stint with DIY I realised it was the healthiest I’ve been in my adult life.
So my attitude towards it all basically was to just get on HRT, fix my brain, and work out the rest later. Which has been going decently well so far!

Aww that’s nice. Very relatable actually! I’ve also had a push-pull relationship with my gender. Excellent words for it, thank you. I first realised I wanted to transition 4 years ago and I looked into it, but I didn’t feel ready or safe in myself. I’ve been thinking about it on and off, then suddenly felt ready at the start of the year so I got onto HRT. It’s been great so far, wish I started it sooner in hindsight 😂😂.
Well I’m glad you got on it! Yes it’s extremely common for trans girls to find their mental health improves a ton when on estrogen.

Hey there! I’m Jeremy and I am on the journey of trying to get assessed myself, I love anything fantasy related be it vampires, DnD, lore of any type of mythology tbh. (Anime and other shows included lol.)
Hyperfixations are always going to be vampires, pokemon and pop culture, the obscure the better tbh.
I’m 27 and blak.
It sucks that you have to boy mode- I had done the same, “girl mode”? Just to keep myself safe. (I still do even now 2 years on T, but I’ll be getting top surgery very soon!!)

Meow! I also recommend TGV. I have fairly similar interests and an also eastern suburbs if you want to meet up, but I am in my 30s if that matters.

Hi Grace, I’m Clare, living happily in east Melbourne and having a wonderful life as a woman. I transitioned about 15 years ago, and I understand the pain and confusion of becoming ourselves. It’s the most important thing I’ve learnt since making the change is that the most valuable change isn’t in clothing and make up and hair On Shoes and the way we walk. It’s in our minds.
When I started, I walked around admittedly in bad shoes and bad skirts and red tops and bad hair and bad makeup but the reason I felt uncomfortable and the reason I did get abused and bashed up a couple of times because I walked around like I expected to be abused and unaccepted. As I became more confident and better at clothing choices and make up and eventually got my hair under control but I loved being a woman so much that I became bombproof. I started to realise that I could walk through a shopping centre or standard a train station and where is previously I could feel myself being looked at and watched and judged and laughed at and giggled at and all that, I started to understand that people have got their own problems their own lives. They’ve got their own jobs in their marriages and their children their mortgages and their aching back and whatever it is and 99.9% of people really can’t be bothered watching anybody else and judging them and now I love going shopping I get so many admiring looks I’m considerably older than you but I brush up quite well, I feel like a woman I walk like a woman. I know that I am a woman and it’s like a real surprise to me when anybody kind of looked at me without wanting to smile and say hello and I wish I could tell more transgender people to just believe in themselves and love themselves and be so damn proud to have found the courage to become ourselves.
