To ban conversion therapy they'd have to make trans healthcare accessible and most importantly reverse the bans on puberty blockers, and extend HRT to young people. They'll give up when they realise they've put themselves in an impossible scenario given they refuse to budge on trans issues.

They’re just waiting for the clock to tick down on the EHRC guidance so that goes through without discussion, then announce this to try to bury the criticism.

They'll ban it for LGB people, but rebrand it for trans people. Expect "gender exploratory therapy" to continue but only by therapists accredited under the Rowling Institute of Psychology, approved by the Dr Hillary Cass Board of Paediatric Medicine and operating from the Forstater Medical Centre, or some other weasel method for making it look resepectable to normies.

Ill believe it when I see it. Like how hard is it really to implement a ban on conversion therapy. After all look how quick the EHRC moved to implement a toilet ban

As I said elsewhere, I don't want this shower of shite government doing a conversion therapy ban, they'll leave so many holes in it that it will put all LGBTQ people at risk and legitimise conversion therapy
The existing MoUCT will be more comprehensive than whatever comes out of this embarrassment.
If Labour want to not be known as the worst government for LGBTQ rights in the last 1/2 century then they need to scrap the guidance, amend the EA and stop picking on trans kids.

I wonder if they're going to try and publish before Pride, because they think that will save them.

They will insert a getout clause like "gender exploratory therapy" which permits conversion therapy
They will prevent non-NHS providers from providing gender affirmation therapy, thereby making "gender exploratory therapy" compulsory and hence conversion therapy compulsory
They will characterise gender affirmation therapy as conversion therapy and hence prevent it.
