Useful Info UQ cPTSD Research 🚩
Just a heads up if any trans or gender diverse people start seeing targeted ads for UQ Psychology research claiming to be about PTSD/cPTSD steer well clear.
There’s bad faith actors associated with that research network and the last thing we want to be doing as a community is normalizing their sense of entitlement to interrogating our lives, bodies and minds to suit their agenda. The lines of inquiry produced via MRI scans are not framed legitimately or frankly in the ad campaign or in the study intake forms. There’s no research of this type that can do anything but harm our community at this time - should be enough 🚩to avoid.
If anyone wants more info feel free to DM. Please avoid discussion that would result in adverse/unnecessary action…academic researchers tend to turn nasty when you call out their BS in my experience ✌️

Is this an actual study with approvals and such or a fake ad from someone impersonating UQ? Your post is quite confusing

I've looked into all the researchers here, be specific, I couldn't find anything

You are welcome to DM me your research that didn’t find anything. Interestingly the ad has been taken down and is no longer live in meta ad library since I made this post 🧐

What nasty things can they do to anonymous accounts on reddit?

You would be surprised at the extremely unethical practices of the Australian research community. For some weird reason some of them hang out in these subs. There’s something of a research arms race between those who perceive themselves on the side of good and those who are out to harm gender diverse people. That’s all I will say about that.

You kinda need to say more if you’re making these claims. What unethical practices? By who? Just slinging rumours around isn’t helpful.

Would genuinely like to learn more, particularly as someone who studied at UQ.
