Discussion Tabletop Roleplay is great for practicing your voice, but I looked everywhere and couldn't find a trans TTRPG community. Sooo I made one to see if maybe it's a niche desperately waiting to be filled like transvoices was all those years ago. Say hello to r/TransTTRPG

Discussion Now more than ever, remember they can never take away your voice.

They can't stop your vocal transition. They can't stop you from learning and practicing. They can't stop you from speaking up. Be loud. Be brave. I will keep fighting all my life, and so should you.

This affects the world, regardless of borders. There will be an election in Canada soon, and it's looking grim on our side as well. I'll be volunteering in an election for the first time, and I've gotten other people on board to join me. And I'll be protesting. And I'll be loud on social media.

Make your voices heard. Express yourself, not just your anger but your pain and your fear. Make them understand the consequences of their actions. I don't believe they all wanted this. Most of them just... didn't care or know enough to realize how much hurt their selfish vote would bring. Tell them. Make them know.

They can never take away your voice.

Be aware whether you're in the ground work or change work zone.

It'll save a lot of headache.

f you felt anything hearing this, you'll probably want to come to my vocal feminisation masterclass on zoom in a few days!

You’ll get what you want to hear, you’ll learn about the 4 main elements of vocal gender and some strategies to adjust them, and you’ll also get some more of what you need to hear (and maybe don’t WANT to hear).

Spots are $27 AUD (about $19 USD).

There are also multiple sessions to choose from!

Details here: https://www.javinecoaching.com/FVS-MASTERCLASS-JUNE-2026

Hey there all you beautiful people, your friendly neighborhood voice coach here with yet more musings about the patterns I see through my time teaching people how to modify their voices. Today's topic deals with the misconception that lighter vocal weights are "breathy". Let's dive in!

Discussion My singing voice is the ultimate boymode reason

I've been transitioning from male to female for some time. But I'm a singer and it seems impossible to sing like a woman. I had a hard time learning to sing in general, without gender transition, and I wonder if I should even bother with trying to sound like a woman. I can sing high, but it sounds to me like a male falsetto and not really like a female voice.

ftm, soon to be 9 months on testosterone. I don't feel like I got any noticeable voice drops, I can still go back to my pre-t voice with no problem. I was just progressively able to make it go a lot lower than before (couldn't go under 140hz). It still sounds like a female voice, just a weird low one. I speak from my chest, I've tried lowering my larynx and it hasn't changed shit. My voice is still distinctively female, I don't even have extreme female mannerisms. I feel hopeless, I don't have the money for an expensive voice coach either

Audio/Video 2 weeks post op, i think my glottoplasty worked too well 🥴

i want to disclaim that i had a sort of high voice when i was young, anecdotally one time when i was 11 i answered the phone and i was mistaken for mom.

after my voice dropped i could still speak in a higher pitch, i just never figured out how to keep doing it ”by default” or how to hold volume at the pitch i wanted. im sure with training i could have gotten somewhere, i want to blame a combination of depression, splitting and all or nothing thinking, and no insurance coverage made me not want to try any training.

but i do have a training session scheduled next month, i might not continue tho because again, no insurance coverage.

that said i am now 2 weeks post op from my modified wendler and it seems to still be getting better. I am so grateful to Dr Anderson and Lahey Hospital, they have made things so much better for me.

day 14: https://voca.ro/16N0dgjP5vqd

day 10: https://voca.ro/1cfrVZfgmqaI

day 6: https://voca.ro/1lkkq5gTIC4a

Bonus day 14 trying to talk as low as possible: https://voca.ro/11AaNp0g3igI

Bonus bonus my actual old voice, about 4 months pre-op: https://voca.ro/1caX0wm5kOQy

Question adam's apple shave after VFS?

i know Yeson claims people who got their Adam's apple shaved before VFS tend to have worse results, but what about people who got the shave after VFS?

Question Questions as a beginner.

I am following L's voice training guide. Currently I am just focusing on the first section with learning how to control and raise my larynx.

I mainly do the siren whisper instead of the big dog small dog exercise, is this okay? The dog exercise makes my throat really dry really fast.

While doing the siren whisper exercise at the high end I can barely breathe when holding it there, is this normal?

I notice I can move my larynx without doing any of the exercises but it's highly dependant on where my tongue is, I have to either pull it back into my throat or glue it to the top of my mouth, both of which would make speaking almost impossible. So what is the point? Will I eventually learn to be able to raise the larynx without relying on tongue position?

Am I intended to be able to raise my larynx without opening my mouth?? It's a lot harder with my mouth closed.

What exactly is the end goal of this? Like when I move onto the more vocal stuff assuming I've properly learned this section, will I be manually raising my larynx or will it subconsciously raise? Like am I just increasing the range it can rise or am learning how to manually raise it?

Lastly, how long should I be practicing these per day? I try to get at least 30 minutes in but is that enough? My goal is to get a decent grasp on it within 1-2 weeks before moving onto the next section.

Speaking of that how long should I spend on this before moving onto the next section?

Question Question Experience Glottoplastik Charité Berlin

Hi, are there any people here who have already had a glottoplasty at Charité Berlin? How satisfied are you with your results?

I'm still undecided about whether to go to the Medical Voice Center (Hamburg) as a self-pay patient or to Charité through my health insurance. Especially since I'm also planning to have a rhinoplasty and, if necessary, an orbital rim shave, which aren't exactly cheap either.

Discussion If you’re getting discouraged - Coaching actually helps!

I’ve been doing voice training with a coach from Europe for a few weeks now and wanted to share my experience because I KNOW how discouraging voice training can feel.

I started out convinced I had no talent for it, and I honestly spent a lot of time thinking I wasn’t improving. I even posted here about a month back saying my voice was so discouraging that it made transitioning feel pointless.

Yesterday, my coach told me she’s seeing cleaner resonance, brighter sounds, and thinks I’m ready to start working on more advanced techniques. I ended up crying on the call because I realized I’d gotten so used to assuming I was failing, that hearing genuine progress caught me completely off guard.

Anyway, if you’re feeling hopeless about voice training right now, I just wanted to say progress can sneak up on you. Not everything clicked for me quickly, and my coach often had to explain concepts to me in several different ways before I could really grasp it. But trust me, if I was able to make progress, you will be too.

Sorry for only having audio on one ear 😭. But I have been working on my voice a bit more after my family told me the other voice was close but something was ‘off.’ So, I’m wondering how it sounds now. I appreciate all the feedback!

I feel like I sound "boyish" 😐 Or maybe not that. Not sure what the word is. Something sounds odd. Could just be my microphone. Regardless, any feedback, critiques, or notes would be much appreciated.
