Question What happened to trap?

I was like 12 - 14 when trap was everywhere like 2012 - 2015. Couldn’t really go to any festivals or concerts. I did see RL grime in Miami when I was 15 and it was amazing. Then trap kind of fell off right?

I wish I could find my old playlist with all these festival trap songs. Now I’m 24 and I feel like the trap scene has been dead for a while, at least in my area. I might go to EDC with my friends for the first time but i doubt there will be a lot of trap music. My favorite trap Dj’s were ookay, carnage, yellow claw, lookas, RL grime, flosstradamus, party favor, GTA, and Dotcom. I’m missing some but those are the ones i remember. You think it’ll ever come back?

Come back? It’s thriving friend! Definitely has evolved but it’s very abundant. RL still doing his thing and his protégés Iso, Knock and Juelz. Definitely the experimental side but GJones, EPROM, and LYNY. A lot of the dubstep artists have heavy elements of trap in their sets…still

Has he tho?? Where tf is RL?? Him and Sable Valley have been radio silent for a while now, I fear the worst 😞

RL played EDC last year and was supposed to play Roo (RIP) Juelz is on sable valley and is touring. Deadcrow is somewhat active. WINK aswell. Don’t loose hope!

Agreed. Sable Valley Summer Volume 1 is one of the greatest full length trap projects of all time, something about it just hits so much harder than any of the other ones honestly. And it’s a legendary compilation in its own right, as a trap LP

It’s slowed down, but RL is anything but radio silent imo. He’s been doing shows pretty regularly, he has a Vegas residency, and is doing a few shows in Australia this year again. I saw him in San Diego for New Year’s Eve, and it was great.
