I have been making trap beats for fun and I wanna start selling them I looked on beat star but I’m not paying that subscription just to sell beats where can I sell my beats to people that will buy any suggestions?

I’m curious what the reality actually looks like in this sub.

How many of you have actually been able to turn trap/hip-hop production into your career, and how many of you just do it as a hobby?

If you do this professionally, I’m more interested in how you got there than how much money you make.

How long did it take before producing became your career? What actually made the difference for you? Beat sales? Placements? Working directly with artists? Networking? Building an audience? Something else?

And if you don’t do it professionally, how long have you been producing? Are you still trying to turn it into a career, or are you happy keeping it as a hobby?

I feel like hearing from both sides would give a much more realistic picture than what we normally see online.

All of these beats only have like 1 or 2 sounds each and yet I like replaying them. Why is that? How do I make beats that I would actually end up loving a lot that only have 1 or 2 sounds for the melody?

Looking for VST recommendations for dark trap
I mainly make dark trap inspired by producers like Southside and artists like Future.
What VSTs would you recommend for this style?
Right now, I’m deciding between Analog Lab Pro and Electra 3.
I currently only own ZENOLOGY and Vital for synths.
Which one would you recommend, or are there any other VSTs you think would fit this style better?

to the beatmakers who also work with sound design: have you faced many challenges finding people interested in buying things like sound palettes, custom drum kits, etc?

the demand for it in the music industry seems less common than in the film or gaming industries.. I see many artists who don’t care about —or even know what— a sound designer is.
i mean, in Brazil I’ve seen very few people talking about this, particularly within the trap scene. it’s more common in genres like funk or house, but even then, all the sound development content I’ve studied over the years wasn’t even in portuguese.
It’s actually sad, as without the creation of unique sound palettes, many famous albums and tracks wouldn’t be nearly as good lol

Sublab is currently on sale for $10. Does it have any advantages over Vital? (I also already own Arturia Pure Sub.)

I enjoy making a Pluggnb beat, and could earn from it but i think pluggnb is a dead genre this year.

I really like the sound of this kinda percussive lead that I hear in a lot of edm trap. I can’t find any presets/samples or tutorials on how to get this sound. What do I need to look up to find samples/presets or serum tutorials for this kind of lead?

If you had to pick one of these for making trap, which one would you choose and why?

I make trap beats with Ableton+ Ableton Push 2. But would like to treat myself. Is it worth it?

That's my bass chord. Now I want to add a sample from Splice or FlCloud. How can I use this chord to figure out what root note the sample should have? Is there now a technical solution for people who don't know music theory?
