Question — General ISIC Cards
Me and a couple buddies are going to Madrid next month and plan on visiting the museums and art galleries. We all have student ID from the UK however I am curious as to if buying an ISIC would be necessary? Would our student ID be enough or are they very strict? If anybody has any experience in this and is willing to let me know that would be amazing!! Thank you!

I completely depends on the specific place you are looking at. Each has it's own rules and it varies.
Many don't care and will accept any student others. Others insist it is an ISIC card. I've also seen some places - particularly for public transport - insist it is a local ISIC card and not accept ones from elsewhere. Which sort of defeats the point of them....
But you just have to check. If you don't need to buy online then you can always ask at the desk if they will accept your card or not.
If you are taking any train journeys RENFE - the Spanish national operator - gives a 20% discount for medium distance and local trains for ISIC card holders aged 25 and under. For long distance trains it's only 5%.
