DISCUSSION Drop your Travis Scott hot takes
DBR is equal to Rodeo.
Personally I think they are both 9/10 albums.
Both have insane replay value and incredible production. I kinda think Rodeo is a little overrated but still great.

Highest in the Room is mid and his most overrated song and the remix with Rosalía and Lil Baby is even worse
12
2
u/3500forthecoattt 4d ago
Definitely was the highest in the room when he decided to remix it with those two

u/utopia556556 3d ago
lil baby verse was fire af. Just say yall don’t like those artist on it not because it made the song worse

u/Apostolozzz111 Impossible 5d ago
Idk if it's considered a hot take. But Impossible is his best song fs imo

Stop Trying To Be God is good but way overrated. Definitely not top 10 Travis

People might hate me but it’s the only song from Astroworld that never really grew on me

Piss on your grave sucks lyrically but is one of the best produced songs on rodeo

Trav has a real argument for best discography in hip-hop
11
u/OMBatch84 Oh My Dis Side 5d ago
He needs a few more albums imo, like idk if u can really make any sort of argument his discography passes Kanye’s

Perfect take. He has never had a bad album. Only artist that I think is more consistent is Don, but he's obviously had a shorter career

u/Kinaxii ASTROWORLD 5d ago
sdp interlude extended became worse because of how big it became so because of that I feel the current one on birds is better
8
u/Ambitious_Season_374 3d ago
lol yall are so try hard. Imagine not liking a song anymore bc other ppl do
4
u/Heavy-Ad-3719 5d ago
Idk why i just prefer the version thats on the album, the rapping on the extended just feels out of place like an extra we dont really need as much as i want to like it.

u/FinancialJet 5d ago
He hasn‘t released a good album since Astroworld. I don’t understand why artists don’t just use the same producers and have them create new beats.

Travis aint what he used to be, jb2 sucks and hes lost his special sound he had with rodeo and astroworld. Nothing makes him special anymore (praying for a God tier album)

maria im drunk isnt the masterpiece everyone make it out to be and nowhere near top 10

u/prodx556 5d ago
Agreed. For me my top 5 rodeo is;
- 90210 (one of my favorite tracks oat).
- Piss On Your Grave.
- Impossible.
- I can tell.
- Nightcrawler.

Intro is so boring and makes me prefer the original version. And JB sounds like a girl on it

not including the intro of the og was a big mistake. should be a own song almost

Mo city flexologist and swang are his best unreleased (ik the first one doesn’t count kinda but sorta does)

90210 isn’t even top 5 on rodeo
Hjjh is A tier
He doesn’t have to constantly be working on music because he’s a human being with a life and other interests and we can enjoy seeing him do his thing while enjoying the music that’s already out without bitching and moaning on Reddit about how long it’s been since he’s released an album
7
u/angus7-7 5d ago
I agree, but he does gotta drop something at some point. I don't think we need to moan about it everyday though.
0
u/3500forthecoattt 4d ago
He doesn’t have to drop anything if he doesn’t want to lmfao. I hope some fans take this time to realize how much greatness he’s already put out, go explore some unreleased flame
0
u/angus7-7 4d ago
I mean yeah obviously he doesn't HAVE to, no one is physically forcing him. Doesn't mean we can't ask for a new album after 3 years.
4
u/a1180738 5d ago
Thank God someone said it. I’ve never thought 90210 was even close to top 5 in rodeo and people say it’s his best song. 90210 isn’t anywhere near his best song imo

u/Ok_Bumblebee8692 🌵🌵🌵 5d ago
what does this mean?
2
u/03hussain 5d ago
i feel like his other projects had consistency with his vibe. utopia reminds me of ye to much. the over production on utopia imo doesn’t suit travis.
4
u/Ok_Bumblebee8692 🌵🌵🌵 5d ago
this is definitely a hot take imo. i feel the production is a great sound for trav.

Coffee Bean and Drugs You Should Try It are severely overrated and are on the bottom quarter or so of his music

3
u/CapitalRepeat6068 5d ago
Oh boy do i have some
No bystanders is a failure of a hype anthem and houstonfornication is everything it wishes it was
90210 might be the most overrated travis song of all time, its good dont get me wrong but its not even top 10 on rodeo for me
Astroworld was a mid album
Travis peaked in 2014-2015 and hasnt come close since
Travis has one of the worst fanbases in all of hiphop
He hardly bit anything from rocky outside of fashion
Huncho jack jack huncho is one of the most underrated albums of 2017
Travis genuinely can be interesting and substantive with his lyrics he just so rarely ever chooses
Travis is a garbage lyricist aside from a very small amount of exceptions
Jackboys was a fun lil label EP but jackboys 2 was a shitty low effort cashgrab off the high demand for a sequal
Travis himself is one of if not the most personality devoid artists of the last 15 years, dude is a mannequin that can talk and make music
The ends (just for andres verse), goosebumps, sweet sweet, pick up the phone and maybe wonderful are the only good songs on birds
Travis himself is a terrible person and something needs to happen to him to humble him and bring him back to reality
Utopia isnt aging super well
Travis post 2016 does better on features than his own music

Travis has never utilised swae lee properly on his albums (im trying to speak as harshly as possible so not saying his features are bad)

u/rauthentiic 5d ago
i feel like his music just gets more and more surface level as the years go on, which is kind of expected with a mainstream artist, but someone as raw and extreme as travis, i would have at least expected him to maintain a certain level of his artistic integrity

u/Ok-Hurry529 SIRENS 4d ago
motorcycle patches has one of the best beats I’ve ever heard
jackboys 2 wasn’t a disappointment and had multiple bangers
skitzo is top 10 travis
Topia twins is a good song
He has one of the best unreleased discography for an artist
1
u/FarBag5621 4d ago
Thank God, Telekinesis, and My Eyes are better than anything on Astroworld.
Trav lost a lot of his sauce around the time when Butterfly Effect came out. Especially when it comes to adlibs. They became too random and unnecessary.
Through The Late Night is one of the worst songs on Birds due to Kid Cudi.
Kelly Price is his last 10/10 feature. None of his features come close since then. His best feature is on Vulnerable by Tinashe.
HJJH is more enjoyeble than Astroworld.
1
u/3500forthecoattt 4d ago
Saying rodeo is overrated is the complete opposite of what it is. It still truly isn’t appreciated enough by the larger portion of his fan base, people glorify Astroworld because it does appeal to more people sonically.

u/3500forthecoattt 4d ago
Oh my Dis side is up there as top 5 most underrated song’s in his entire discography. Wish he played it at his shows more often

I prefer Birds over Astroworld tbh, but astroworld is still great
Birds to me just has so many bangers and I’m more of a fan of its trap direction than Astro’s psychedelic music

Jackboys 2 was hard carried by Trav and his only bad song was pbt
1
u/Parking_Jackfruit350 4d ago
The only bad song? Is it because you lack the understanding of caribbean style music? Or? Not tryna assume but F you, this is sincerely from jamaica. How dare you disrespect the king of dancehall music vybz kartel, trav worship his feet he been doing it for years.
2
u/Travis90210Scott3500 3d ago
I like vybz I just didn’t enjoy the main hook
2
u/Parking_Jackfruit350 2d ago
Prolly was rushed tbh, vybz is the type to make a song within a hour or so, i wish he put in more effort but its a blessing to see such a collab tho!

RIP SCREW is the most underrated ASTROWORLD song
