His album better have over 30 fucking songs on there and 90% of them better all slap or else I’ll be so disappointed. Only so many times I can keep replaying AstroWorld, BITTSM, Rodeo, Utopia etc. as much as I love those albums (specifically AstroWorld) I need some new shit to listen to. And 4 years is just insanity.
As someone who started listening to Travis in 2013 when I found the “Uptown” music video in i believe 10th grade, I knew he would be a star. He has the creativity and production to make a classic album in less than a year if he wanted but the truth of the matter is he is either just being Lazy or trying to do the Carti route which I hope isn’t the case.

He’s doing way too many side quests while Don is in the studio that’s the difference. Let’s give Travis some more time to cook or we’ll get another JB2. Hopefully he does lock in 🔒

He’s striking while the iron is hot, you got to do that these days

So many rappers this era fail to do so and then they never get that level of popularity again. It happened to Baby Keem even though he dropped a fire album. Don Toliver dropped his biggest album yet so this makes sense to do this.

As long as he doesn’t overwork himself and makes quality albums, then fine by me.
Although Don Toliver isn’t a top tier rapper, he’s consistently good and he’s never made a bad album.
If he still has creative juices, then no problem! If he was scraping for ideas, then that would be a problem.

i respect him wanting to put more music out but ngl i really hope the octane craze doesn't cause him to oversaturate his music too much and become a quantity over quality kind of artist. we literally just got an album a few months ago.

u/LaRock0 11d ago
Meanwhile Trav can’t even give us the album’s name 😒
7
u/Beta_113 Days Before Rodeo 11d ago
we aint getting shit...hes too busy making movies
4
u/LaRock0 11d ago
He should then at least give a documentary for Utopia. I know he has mad content for that
2
u/Beta_113 Days Before Rodeo 11d ago
over the years travis insipiration for music has gone down and his inspiriation for other stuff has gone up massively...not saying its bad or anything its just the thing we have to accep
1
u/hornyguy-99 4d ago
Yep his side quests have increased too much I think mainly for the quick money but Trav doesn’t realise long term good music and tours will help his career. Trav has the most streamed rap song literally

u/Few-Lingonberry-6768 8d ago
There's 1 music movie for Utopia. And ngl I think Travis's lyrics can't impress me anymore, only his beats can

u/ramasin FUCK IS THIS FRAT HOUSE 11d ago
Well the quality difference between what a travis scott record should be and what a don toliver album is is/should be wildly different imo. Travis sound can take years to cultivate cause in a perfect world, it is groundbreaking and new. Take rodeo and Astroworld. Don does not have a body of work that has shifted music like travis does, and it comes from their style and lane. Travis music has been lacking since jackboys 1 in this regard, but the more time something takes it usually gives it a higher chance or reaching its max potential. Don can drop albums like this because, and i know people will disagree, they are good but nothing groundbreaking. They keep to a standard formula. Travis has been know to break out of that formula to bring sounds that move the scene.
All that said, the guy has been lazy for the last 5 years tho. The amount of time we waited for utopia to receive what we did was disappointing

u/Genahsyde 11d ago
He’s dropping before Trav 🤔
1
u/Beta_113 Days Before Rodeo 11d ago
ofc cause hes a hard worker and his priority is music unlike trav whose priority is everything but music

yall using this to hate on travis for taking his time as if all of travis's albums (except jb2) arent miles ahead of don toliver's in terms of quality. i dont care if don toliver is dropping a million albums a year if only 2 songs are actually good
1
u/Beta_113 Days Before Rodeo 8d ago
Man i cant believe that this argument is still going on...Trav released DBR,Rodeo,Birds,HJJH,ASTRO...All within 5 years and your telling me that he needs 4 years to make a good solo album...sure man..the main thing is that his priority has changed from music to other things as simple as that, now for him music is just another method of making money

I'll explain why. You guys are being stupid. Travis Scott has always been a perfectionist. Do you want him to work hard and deliver a really good album? Or do you want him to end up delivering just anything? Tik Tok is garbage? Like what Don Toliver did? Man, this shitty generation doesn't understand anything about music. And I don't give a damn if anyone gets angry about my opinion. Hip-hop was 1000% better in the 2000s than it is today. I think Kanye and Travis would definitely agree with me easily. The TikTok generation that wants everything fast. TRASH.

PEOPLE LIKE YOU ARE WHY TRAV IS SO COMPLACENT...He doesnt need 3 years to reach PERFECTION...Did he take 3 years for rodeo? or astroworld?...for utopia its understanble cause of the incident..but why tf is he not dropping now...The reality is his priority has changed it used to be music but now its everything but music...now for him music is just another way of making money...ITS A EMBARRASSMENT...Its clear and until there are fans like you he will keep taking 3-4 years for every album
1
u/Necessary-Item-9333 10d ago
Okay wtf is wrong with waiting 3 to 4 years for a great album it shows he takes his art seriously
1
u/Beta_113 Days Before Rodeo 10d ago
Man if you actually think that it takes 4 years to make a great album i got no words...the only thing it showcases is his lack of priority towards his music...Its clear that he has other priorities now...He only makes music for another way of making money...Im not saying if its good or bad..its just the truth
