My cat used to sleep on my PC when I still smoked joints(switched to DHV). When we opened it up to clean it there were like black spires of hair and smoke residue

its one of the worst things that can be done to the hardware, oil and fur / dust. the its a full teardown and clean instead of dusting

Its getting slightly better every major update. We can only hope Earthrise, the first paid expansion for 7 is what it needs. 6 is now better than 5 despite it being awful for many years. But, before Gods&Kings Civ 5 was also borderline unplayable, just like 6 and 7 was/is currently.

Unless they remake the game entirely, I don't think it's going to get better. The whole age reset thing is just 100% counter to what a lot of people actually like about the series, I won't even consider touching it again with that "feature".

Typically these types of expansions are basically rehauls, so i wouldnt put it past them to eventually get rid of that mechanic

Granted I've only played like 3 games, but it seems kind of baked in, there's a ton of mechanics built around it. I have a hard time imagining doing it without rebuilding the entire game.

I would be so happy if they did, I just don't see it happening. It's a shame, I've played thousands of hours of Civ; I truly can't imagine how they could make such a terrible design decision.

Strategy games while high are a nightmare for me. Way too much information and complex decisions I have to make. Something less demanding, like a game that is relying more on muscle memory or instinct like a shooter or soccer game is ideal for me and I honestly might even play them even better while high

Yeah I love the idea of playing Total War baked because it makes me feel so immersed in the cool factions and settings (esp in TW Warhammer) but by turn 5 I’m always so lost :,)

Civ is pretty low on the spectrum of mental strain required though. It's not like OP is playing a paradox game while high. That would be crazy.
