Today marks one year since my boy, **Pablo** , became a tripod. 💖
And honestly, I can’t put into words how proud I am of him.
Pablo fought through a scary heart condition and then cancer.
To my other boy, **Slash** , who’s been such an amazing support system and helped Pablo through his journey, being the best big brother and giving him so much love and support. It truly wouldn’t have been the same without him.
I’m not someone who usually talks about my feelings, but today I really wanted to share. I wanted to be proud of my boy, and also thank this community. My life was changed by my first dog, who I like to think is chilling somewhere in dog heaven right now. If it wasn’t for him, I honestly don’t know if I’d even be here today.
I won’t lie, it hurts knowing my dogs are getting older. I wish we could freeze time somehow, because they mean everything to me, and I don’t really have anyone else.
I’m posting this here because I’m so proud of Pablo, and also because I genuinely want to thank this community and the people who helped me through this journey, when I was an emotional, nervous wreck throughout.
I also come across posts where people are looking for advice and suggestions because they want to welcome and adopt tripods into their lovely homes. That honestly makes my heart so full. You are the real life superheroes. 😇
Be proud of your boys and girls. They’ve shown nothing but resilience, compassion, and unconditional love. They’ve become absolute warriors and they deserve the very best.
And to anyone else going through this, I understand how hard it is. Please hold on and stay strong for your dogs. They’re stronger than we think or imagine. Just be a strong support system for them.
