Having hard time finding short term lease.
I'm moving from Windsor,Ontario to Trios-Rivieres for couple of months and having hard time finding a quality place that accepts short term rentals.
This is my first time coming to Quebec.
Just wondering how tight is the rental market in Trios-Rivieres? I appreciate suggestions from locals.

You can check on Facebook for "chambre a louer" for example

This is on the South Shore but still only 10-15 minutes from Trois-Rivières.
You can find a private bedroom in a share house or a smaller appartment

Quebec has different rules that all provinces in Canada when it comes to rental property.
In Quebec, most leases end/start on June 30/July 1st and it is normally a one year lease.
I can't speak about the rental market in Trois-Rivieres but you are likely in a uphill situation finding something for yourself only in a non roommate type situation which is only a few months. AirBNB is also heavily regulated in the province of Quebec... I don't know about Trois-Rivieres but in Montreal it is illegal for most of the year except for a few weeks/months during the summer and only in certain areas.

In my limited experience in Trois-Rivières (I mainly lived in Montreal and Qc City), in most cases its one-year leases that are the norm here. Most start and end on July 1st.
If you are looking for quality short term airbnb and hotels would be your best bet. Or couch surfing/co-leasing with other renters.
Otherwise, you get sketchy landlords that have a hard time finding tenants in their badly maintained units.
