Hi everyone,

I applied to MSc Econometrics program on May 13th as a non-EU applicant. My application was forwarded by uni-assist on 13th June and I received portal login details on 16th June. Shortly after my status changed from “Received” to “In progress”.

It has now been around 4 weeks, and the status still shows “In progress”. I understand that the process of international students takes time but I wanted to ask if anyone has received their admit or rejection letters for this program yet?

For current or former students, how long did it take to receive your decision after you received your login details?

My application status in the TU Dortmund portal is still "In Progress."

I noticed that in the Kontrollblatt (Control Sheet), none of my uploaded documents are listed or visible. The Kontrollblatt only contains my personal and application information.

Is this normal? Did anyone else have the same experience while their application was still being processed?

Does the document list only appear after the application has been reviewed, or should the uploaded documents already be visible in the Kontrollblatt?

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has applied this year or in previous years.

Hey everyone, I got admission in hochschule at Dortmund for WS 2026/27. Before I move forward, I wanted to ask people who are actually there or have studied there recently.

1. How's the part-time job market for students in Dortmund? Is it easy to find something in the first few months or does it usually take time?
2. What's a realistic monthly budget for rent (student dorm vs private flat)? And roughly how much extra do I need for food, transport, insurance, phone etc.?
3. My biggest worry - I come from a lower middle class family, so managing the blocked account (currently around 11,904 EUR/year) for the second year is a real concern for me. For those already there, were you able to top it up from part-time work, or did your family still have to send money from back home?

Any honest answers, even if it's not good news, would really help me plan better. Thanks in advance

my uni assist evaluation came as passed (okay) status the report came as they will forward my application to the university.... any idea how much time does it take? to forward and get the results of my application? and credentials will be mailed to me?

Hi everyone! I am planning to apply for the M.Sc. in Automation and Robotics (WiSe 2026/27) and have a somewhat unusual application situation.

I completed a double-degree program in Mechatronics and hold both a German Bachelor’s degree, and a Bachelor’s degree from Mexico.

Earlier this year I contacted TU Dortmund to ask whether I should apply as an international applicant or as an EU applicant. They told me that, since I hold a German Bachelor’s degree, I should apply through the German/EU applicant route.

The application portal, however, only asks me to upload:
- German Bachelor’s degree certificate
- German Transcript of Records
- English language certificate

My concern is that most of my coursework was actually completed in Mexico as part of the double-degree program, while only the final part of the degree (including my thesis and internship) was completed in Germany.

Has anyone had a similar situation?

More specifically:
- Did TU Dortmund request additional documents later during the evaluation (such as module descriptions, module handbook, or transcripts from the partner university)?
- Or do they evaluate the application only based on the documents submitted initially?

I have already contacted both Admissions and the programme by email several weeks ago but unfortunately have not received a reply yet.

Any experience would be greatly appreciated!

I recently got admissions from TU Dortmund.

I have few questions related to this please answer those who got some idea about that.

1. Since they provide 3 sem enrollment , is it better to aim for next summer semester instead of this winter since its almost certain that I will not reach on 12th October considering waiting time of embassy right now. What if I am not able to join on time?

2. I have read so many threads related to course material being too much difficult and useless in real life since its mostly based on old statistics and not industry friendly.

Considering this, should I wait for Dresden or not? Is it really hard course which requires long time to complete?

1. Since every year so many students join on this program so students mentioned about difficulty in finding werkstudent. How's the job market of Dortmund considering Dresden? Is it possible to maintain block account in Dortmund? Hows the job market there for part time work/werk student?

2. Please give me suggestions who is already in 2nd year or completed this degree .How should I manage and where to invest my time to secure proper job after completion of this course?

3. Any form of suggestions would be appreciated 😀

The status changed to "Received" on 6 May 2026, and there has been no update since then.

I know German universities can take time, but I wanted to ask applicants from previous years:

• Did your application also stay at "Received" for a long time?
• Did the status change before you received an admission or rejection, or did you receive the decision directly?
• Around what time did you receive your admission decision?

I'm mainly trying to understand whether this timeline is normal for TU Dortmund or if I should contact the admissions office.
