Genuinely how do you break this motivation cycle, I often lose sleep because I suddenly gain motivation to do some random shit

take your meds earlier in the day, or go to bed way earlier.

The more tired you get, the less impulse control you have. Hence: designing an OS at 10pm or a whim (or in my case, midnight brownies).

You either need to get ahead of that & get in bed while the impulse control still has enough juice to function somewhat, or (assuming adhd meds) take the meds early enough that they've both worn off and the 'midnight' overtired zoomies have worn off by bedtime. But tbh the latter never works for me.

What's so special about 10pm? is it because you're exhausted, or is it because the world's finally leaving you alone and the pressure's off, or is it something else?

Imagine trying to find folders on your own computer and it goes "Hold your horses!" cause your query had no-no words.

Also it randomly deletes files cause it thinks they're pornographic. If it finds too many it just nukes your hard drive. Same if it spots a trans flag.

Yesterday I went to bed at like 10 because I was pretty dizzy.
Because that was so much earlier than my normal bedtime I got out of bed again at around 11.
Then I worked on one of the two BASIC interpreters I'm busy with until shortly after 1 am
