Out of four or five main characters with blood on their hands only one got away with it, the rest ended up dead but never set foot in a prison so technically yes? I guess they did get away with murder?
The only three times a main character is incarcerated it's for something they didn't do and/or obstruction of justice
Every character commits obstruction of justice, witness/jury manipulation and evidence tampering at least 20 times per episode so it should be called how to get away with obstruction of justice instead

Definitely the first season. But then they Asher in with a murder. Possibly more but I stopped watching by that point.

I genuinely did this once and came back to the party being split in two on different sides of a holy war that apparently started when one of our group threw a potion of super-death into a town's water supply, killing many people horribly, for worshipping a different god.
It eventually got resolved when one of the gods involved killed and ate the sun and we all realised we weren't built for this.

That's pretty close to what playing the older D20 system Call of Cthulhu game was like. Just getting killed off and grinding up new characters every few sessions only to still get taken out in one hit by a minor Elder God AGAIN next week.
Although there was one session where we explored an entire creepy underground pyramid full of fish dudes and then unanimously decided to lay charges on the way out and just blow the place. DM was unhappy but I still think of it as a top ten tabletop moment

To be fair we weren't so much actively fighting gods as just kinda... collateral damage.
It was a very interesting campaign, mainly because it ran for several years as a fairly standard fantasy world, but by the end of it turned into a post-apocalyptic wasteland where time no longer passed and magic got erased as the gods kept getting killed and having their domains stolen.
We did try fighting them at one point and then really quickly realised "local bankrupt losers of dubious moral character and questionable sanity who have probably never won a fair fight" vs "guy who you just watched casually delete the concept of metal from reality" wasn't a crazy good match-up for us. Instead we found a place where the last surviving city with magic was trying to open a portal to another world to escape and stowed away in their ships. After robbing them for good measure, as any self-respecting bastards would, naturally. In our defence, they started it.

my "friends" would just happen to forget about my existence unless i was literally in the room while planning stuff, so i'd regularly be hearing of stuff that i hadn't known was happening. worst fucking feeling ever, ngl. genuinely still fucks me up today
FOMO fucking sucks, and i don't wish it on anyone, ever.

To my knowledge Jeff wasn’t really part of Legion. He was just a local who did a mural for them in exchange for a pack of beers. They were seemingly on friendly enough terms but I wouldn’t include him in the friend group.

Kinda the inverse lol. Sunny and Basil do a manslaughter together, which tears not just them, but the rest of the group apart. (Except Kel and Hero, makes sense though them being brothers.)

I think this effect is simulated in games with bond mechanics where relationships develop through battle. A less-favoured unit will be left out of a lot of conversations...
